kvegas-wx
Just curious about board protocol regarding Svr WX events. What merits "storm mode"? With a large portion of the OHV, Tenn Vall and soon to be SE covered under High Risk or Moderate Risk of Tornadoes / Svr WX, wouldn't this type of event qualify for storm mode? Already watching an unexpected storm approaching 77/40. Timing seems quite early this side of the apps.

Lookout
Just curious about board protocol regarding Svr WX events. What merits "storm mode"? With a large portion of the OHV, Tenn Vall and soon to be SE covered under High Risk or Moderate Risk of Tornadoes / Svr WX, wouldn't this type of event qualify for storm mode? Already watching an unexpected storm approaching 77/40. Timing seems quite early this side of the apps. Not really. Normally it's reserved for winter weather events, which as you know attract a lot more weenies. Overall severe weather events are pretty civil. There are of course individual cases of weenism and they are dealt with on a person by person basis. Although we are usually more bullish in our moderation during events like this, storm mode is where we crack down on a lot of stuff in and in general it's not activated (unless of course it involves the mid atlantic/new england where virtually any cold front with storms creates havoc ...unless its' something historic like last year. The key is for people to report others who are disrupting the thread/making stupid/weenie posts. If things get really bad, storm mode won't be even necessary as me and weathernc will take care of stupid posts anyway. At any rate, I think it's time to pin this thread since business is about to pick up...as JR would say.

WeatherNC
OK, we are going to attempt to move this mainside, large outbreak likely covering several different regions, and right now we have people discussing the same information in multiple places on the board. Link is below, I am waiting to here back from staff if we are going to merge the threads, or just continue to direct traffic to the thread in the main forum. I know this is kind of confusing, but we do not want people talking about the same thing in different places, best resource is provided by keeping everything consolidated and this is an attempt to do that. Thank you. http://www.americanw...ntic-carolinas/
