BX you're cool...you lay it out and I appreciate that and you stand behind what you say good or bad. I'm not a NY v Boston guy, we're incredibly lucky to have two of the best cities on the planet 3 hours apart. NY is a great place.

NY sucks.

But so does Boston.

Getting into the car to drive home from work was interesting. Parked the car at noon, doors frozen shut 9:30pm. That was fun. Fun driving on compacted slippery stuff. People running red lights. Home: messy crunchy compacted mess on uphill driveway, too late to measure anything. Straight to the wine cellar. Big, bold 2007 Napa Cab.

I did not miss the usual winter drives like this. On to summer to see if severe tstorms & tornadoes will become the new norm NH/MA.

Nah two of the best places on earth. I love both although they are totally different. Just great weather cities and places in general. Both unfortunately given a bad rap at times. Both needing infrastructure improvements.

We are all incredibly lucky to live where we do. Spending time in Mexico, Europe, carribean or other parts of this country convince me of that

.

Random bursts of snow here as this system fades to black.

Bouchard may have busted farther out for the 495 corridor and interior, but he basically rocked this storm with his idea of the BL keeping things warm for BOS. Gutsy call given 850s and heavy modeled QPF, and a correct one. I would have busted terribly thinking 3-6" for Logan.

My 5-9" call was good for this area in general. I would have gone 3-6" in BOS and busted.

"Where's all the snow?"

"Great forecast."

This snowstorm is overwhelming."

Comments from co-workers to me today.

One of the reasons I hate this hobby. That's why I was worried last night when snow didn't accumulate on the road over 2" until 3am...not because I needed it to, but because of what I told people would happen.

Ditto

The emotional and time investment... the anticipation and eventual letdown, yet again... and the sense of futility that no matter what, we just cannot escape the mind-blowing suckiness of this winter... all that was bad enough.

But add to that looking foolish by being so dead wrong... days like today that I have a love-hate sense for this hobby.

It's gotta be a cliffhanger at BOS. Anyone seen an update tonight? I was guessing .5", which on top of the .9" from the front end thump would put us at 1.4" and over the top.

Makes this call not look so bad now, does it:

10:57pm PNS still no mention of Winthrop/Logan/Bos

But as Messenger said, if it really is Winthrop, it's kinda stupid.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 9.2" for this ridiculous season.

And btw good call on the 1.3", from Tuesday afternoon as models started to unravel...
