WinterLand
I sometimes wonder what our snowfall average would be if there was a big lake to the west of Boston...LES and OES....bam
wxsniss
Still RASN here. Front is stuck. amazing... (that we are so desperate for something interesting to track --- this colossal failure of a winter won't let us quit, sapping Boston metro to the very end like some twisted torture)

Amped
If Boston doesn't make it I give them credit for pulling off an amazing act. The last band will probably do it though.

HoarfrostHubb
N ORH county did a nice job playing catchup despite getting porked yesterday afternoon. Do you recall a 30 hour event that only produced 8-9"? While it was nice, we could have used some cooler layers higher up. While skiing and snowblowing, I was looking at the flakes...lots of needles and some aggregates when it got colder. Pixie dust last nught interspresed with bigger stuff. HoarfrostHubb
It wasn't really coming down too hard on the slopes. At times there were moderate bands. I had to keep clearing my goggles going up and down. Nothing too great, but I was using the base lodge/parking lot as things to look for. Those are less than 1/2 mile from the top of Smith where you can normally see them. A couple of times they were obscured This pic is from further down and you can't see the lot/base area. jack Suslak
Its finally snowing good here in Lynn with it starting to stick to all surfaces, depends how long this keeps up, but maybe we could get an inch or 2 out of this. ski MRG
I find it hilarious every year he tries to melt everyone's snow away, last year he even tried to melt his own away but was totally embarrassed by Scooter and Phil. He loves to yell "Fire" in crowded movie theatres as well.lol His snow hadn't even fallen yet and he was already going on about it all melting on Saturday. It must suck to not be able to hold a snowpack.lol What are we gonna talk and discuss from here on out? At least we always had fake pattern changes and imagined snow events to discuss this winter..Now we've got nothing to discuss except red flag warnings..and seeing Joe post incessantly in every post. It is going to be sooo boring I'm not ready to get back to bare knuckle 70's vs.80's banter yet. Why can't you bask in the glow of your snow for at least a day or so? Are those your tracks? What's your ride again? You have a couple sleds right? Not mine, my business partner's but he garages them here often. I jump on them to groom and to run the engines but I prefer skis. They're great for quick access to some cool glade skiing but I'd rather ski in/out when there is time.

NEK_VT_Upslope_Event
Spent until 4pm today in Peacham, VT (southern Caledonia County) @ ~1500 ft. It was snowing mod/heavy most of the day. Visual inspection showed ~8-9" at the time I left. Once driving down 91 to 93 on my way to Franconia, NH. I noticed that there was a lot of downsloping areas. Places where the intensity and depth visibly fell off. I'd say low points were St Johnsbury, Littleton and even Franconia downtown were ~3-4". From what I hear, Cannon Mtn base at ~2000 ft is around 8". A very interesting storm, certainly shadowing/downsloping as well as elevation played a significant role around here. Lastly, what was most obvious from the days travels is the significant difference in travel safety when there has been 8" of snow that has fallen over the prior 8 hours and 3". Roads go from snow packed to basically wet, since the equipment can't stay on top of snowfall that is running ~1"/hr for that duration, even up here....
