I always am amazed when snow actually sticks in that concrete jungle, sh it even my little town center of Moosup with 15 buildings and sidewalks gets less snow than the surrounding country side.

It's tough and I miss the rolling Ct. hills... snow is so much more enjoyable when you can enjoy it in the quiet countryside and not have to contend with slush/foot traffic/dog waste/nasty piles that funnel the people through narrow paths.

When we got 4" in January, it never accumulated more than 1.5-2" on the sidewalks... thankfully, there is that patch of green in the middle of the island to measure snow.

For me, the day after a snowstorm in the countryside is just wonderful - sunny skies, ground is sparkling, air is biting cold with radiation off the fresh snow cover. Unfortunately, that's tough to do here.

Unfortunately I think you'd rather lose the way you did last season...17" to 12" probably looks pretty nice this year.

Lol yeah...only two 6''+ storms for the year with one of those being in October isn't much of a victory.

ok, what the heck is this...protective measures for winter time streakers??? (make sure you take in your junk, there's a mighty biting windchill out there) ???

It's the cold pocket of air that tucks in behind the storm. First it moves SW than S and SE. Temps from FIT and extreme srn NH are falling now.

What a sh*t sandwich this winter, this storm has been for those of us in the immediate Boston area. Just unreal.

I'm pulling hard for not another measurable snow total from here on out. Let's ride fuitlity so we can look back and know how sucky this winter really was.

I was not yet born of course for the 1936-7 futility year but was around for 1972-3's 10.3 and I remember it sucked. It snowed in October that year.

I would like to stay under 9 inches this year and put this one to bed. No point in rooting for another inch of snow that will be around for 16 minutes before melting.......let's go for futility.
