weatherMA
This is only piling up on snow, but its piling up quickly where it is accumulating. If it could snow like this for a few hours that would be nice. I could probably add 1.5-2".

weatherMA
10" over 24+ hours is boring 5.7" over 24 hours (exactly 24 now ) is even more boring. But better then 45F and sunny for sure.
CapturedNature
Steady snow in Springfield now too. It's interesting that the Intellicast algorithm has rain down here on the valley floor but it is snowing pretty well here in Springfield.
CoastalWx
Snow is great here, just not sticking. That cold tuck should be here shortly.
danstorm
I always am amazed when snow actually sticks in that concrete jungle, sh it even my little town center of Moosup with 15 buildings and sidewalks gets less snow than the surrounding country side. It's tough and I miss the rolling Ct. hills... snow is so much more enjoyable when you can enjoy it in the quiet countryside and not have to contend with slush/foot traffic/dog waste/nasty piles that funnel the people through narrow paths. When we got 4" in January, it never accumulated more than 1.5-2" on the sidewalks... thankfully, there is that patch of green in the middle of the island to measure snow. For me, the day after a snowstorm in the countryside is just wonderful - sunny skies, ground is sparkling, air is biting cold with radiation off the fresh snow cover. Unfortunately, that's tough to do here.

weatherMA
2 for 2 so far this season. Unfortunately I think you'd rather lose the way you did last season...17" to 12" probably looks pretty nice this year.

CoastalWx
Sounds like I may have to aim my nuclear missle at Winter Hill afterall. I have already lined up one for Northfield NH and West Chesterfield MA.

CoastalWx
ok, what the heck is this...protective measures for winter time streakers??? (make sure you take in your junk, there's a mighty biting windchill out there) ??? It's the cold pocket of air that tucks in behind the storm. First it moves SW than S and SE. Temps from FIT and extreme srn NH are falling now.

weathafella
What a sh*t sandwich this winter, this storm has been for those of us in the immediate Boston area. Just unreal. I'm pulling hard for not another measurable snow total from here on out. Let's ride fuitlity so we can look back and know how sucky this winter really was. I was not yet born of course for the 1936-7 futility year but was around for 1972-3's 10.3 and I remember it sucked. It snowed in October that year. I would like to stay under 9 inches this year and put this one to bed. No point in rooting for another inch of snow that will be around for 16 minutes before melting.......let's go for futility.
