Beautiful day. Breezy and in the 40s/50s. Refreshingly cool. 70s can wait unil May/June.

Agree 100%. Similar today as well. Tad warmer than yesterday but along the Hudson River both at home and outside my office here in Jersey City, it is pretty breezy.

SHOWERS WILL BE DEVELOPING BY 1130 PM ACROSS MUCH OF EAST CENTRAL

PENNSYLVANIA AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND CONTINUE HEAVY AT TIMES

THROUGH 1 AM OR 2 AM. EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS MAY BRIEFLY PRODUCE

SMALL HAIL...ESPECIALLY IN EAST CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA.

dont care who wrote that this is not hail

it could be hail if the convection gets just deep enough. We had pea sized hail last march in a sleety snowy situation. I dont remember what day it was but I remember observing it.

reason i say sleet is because first batch of precip was light echoes and all sleet, now its only sleet when heavy echoes are here. also less and less sleet mixing in as the dewpoint is rising.

You got it! It can fall at other times too, when dry slots take over and your left with just a shallow cloud that snow is trying to form but is frozen in supercooled water drops. Graupel is also common in thunderstorms too and does have something to do with charge separation in thunderstorms.

Is that why it tends to fall during blizzards such as Dec 2010b
