Some pix from around campus today. are these sakuras?? i've seen them bloom for a week now, weird... meanwhile in Guam IT JUST BROUGHT A LOT OF WIND WHICH HAS ONLY EXACERBATED THE FIRE WEATHER SITUATION. NEAR-CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS YESTERDAY RESULTED IN THE FIRST ISSUANCE OF A RED FLAG WARNING IN ALMOST TWO YEARS.

tornadojay
Im on my phone, euro wont load. What did it look like days 6-8 before the silliness? pretty nice.. up until sunday.. then it drives a trof southeast, negatively tilts and closes off a slow moving, strong LP off the coast.. and by the looks of it, it seems like it's got a healthy dose of snow.. at least several inches.. looks as healthy as the October snowicane. Snow_Miser
Just saying, IF the 12z ECMWF were to verify and we somehow got blocking towards the end of the month... Wouldn't it be ironic if we had a KU in October and another one in April? LOL 00z Euro says even earlier, with a 981 mb storm just east of the BM. SnoSki14
It would certainly fit the profile of this winter now wouldn't it. Probably and hopefully it won't happen. Once again, with the growing season in full bloom (especially with the very warm upcoming week), a late winter snowstorm now could once again prove dangerous. Snow_Miser
It would certainly fit the profile of this winter now wouldn't it. Probably and hopefully it won't happen. Once again, with the growing season in full bloom (especially with the very warm upcoming week), a late winter snowstorm now could once again prove dangerous. The October snowstorm caused me to lose power for 12 hours, which is the longest that has ever happened to me during a snowstorm. It was because of the heavy, wet snow, sticking onto leaves and branches, which then in turn snapped, and broke powerlines. If the 00z ECMWF were to SOMEHOW be right, it would probably be more of the same, since in this case, the trees are starting to leaf out already. winterwarlock
yeah the leaf out talk is premature.....it will be early this year...next week will speed the process and we may see some by April. We hope to be cutting by April 1st this year, one extra week of cutting some of the lawns early could give us an extra thousand bucks

uofmiami
Euro really wants to end the heat by D8 onward. Been hinting at this for the past few runs, hope it's out to lunch. Would be quite a shock to see temps drop 30 degrees from one day to the next, as short lived as it may be.
