on_wx
When you guys hear a mass casualty situation, that usually doesn't mean a lot of deaths, but a good amount of injured people that you need a lot of resources for. Ambulances, triage, etc. For sure, on the scanner page it says 1,500 people need assistance right now.

cyclone77
That conglomeration of cells northwest of Miami OK will need to be watched closely. If anything in there tightens up it could possibly impact areas near or just south of Joplin.

tornadotony
It's like reliving Evansville. Cold season, destabilization at night ahead of a broken quasi-discrete band of supercells, major damage reported, all bringing back bad memories. Hopefully everyone down there is attuned to the situation.

Ozarkwx
Just got in from walking the dog, and this certainly "has the feel" that precedes an event. Otherwise the evil cedar pollen is blowing so thick tonight that it looks like a steady mist in the headlamp. Was going to call it a night until I just saw the Lamar report. Wow. This event has been somewhat downplayed locally beyond the small chance of a brief spin up, so not an ideal situation from a public awareness perspective. tornadotony
Per radar Joplin has been completely outflowed, so they are safe now at least. I don't agree with this exactly...it doesn't at all look like that from SGF or INX radars.

brettjrob
IMHO that "BWER" is just space between two distinct and relatively small supercells. The northern of the two has the stronger couplet right now just E of Jericho Springs.
