A LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO NEAR LAMAR HEIGHTS...OR NEAR

LAMAR...MOVING EAST AT 70 MPH.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE GOLDEN CITY...LAMAR AND LOCKWOOD.

OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE STOCKTON LAKE.

IN ADDITION TO A TORNADO...THIS STORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE

DAMAGING HAIL UP TO GOLF BALL SIZE...AND DESTRUCTIVE STRAIGHT LINE

WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH.

FOR SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI.

Just got in from walking the dog, and this certainly "has the feel" that precedes an event. Otherwise the evil cedar pollen is blowing so thick tonight that it looks like a steady mist in the headlamp.

Was going to call it a night until I just saw the Lamar report. Wow.

This event has been somewhat downplayed locally beyond the small chance of a brief spin up, so not an ideal situation from a public awareness perspective.
