SouthernNJ
I certainly would not want to be in the path of this storm. Likely very large hail and destructive winds with it at the least, perhaps a tornado as well.
Crazieman
Anyone else seeing this west of ICT? The squall line is separating into descrete cells.
SouthernNJ
Potentially more than one tornado now. A couple of circulations present. The line that has formed near the OK/KS border also contains a few weaker circulations, but certainly not as impressive.
Indystorm
Anyone else seeing this west of ICT? The squall line is separating into descrete cells. With the level of low level helicity those storms are entering as they progress eastward I wouldn't be surprised.

THIS DANGEROUS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR MARION...AND MOVING EAST AT 55 MPH. AT 749 PM CST...THE POTENTIAL FOR A LARGE TORNADO IS HIGH! Looking at the radar I'd have to agree, the whole damn cell is rotating. Additionally, there's some 100 kt. winds at 5000 feet on the edge of the storm. If those get pulled down on occasion it's gonna seem like a tornado to someone.

brettjrob
What a line of sups along the cold front. None look imminently dangerous at the moment (besides the long-track northern one), but still awfully impressive for FEB.

Haven't looked at the models in a bit but they did show it filling in farther south around midnight earlier.
andyhb
I have a hard time believing that line is going to drop far enough south to affect our area in western Arkansas. Given that the line already stretches south of Enid, OK, I'm not so sure about that.

brettjrob
I have a hard time believing that line is going to drop far enough south to affect our area in western Arkansas. HRRR says it won't be long until it extends down to the Red. And I can personally guarantee it will fill in past my latitude (just S of I-40) within 5 min. of the front clearing my apartment. Indystorm
It's not often we see 0-1km helicity values of 900 to 950 such as in ne OK at present. I for one am glad that richer low level moisture thus far has stayed to the south.

FSMweather
Big hail and 80mph winds do not mix well, lol. We had a bad storm in April 2008 like that but with baseball size hail. Most of the people in our town still have dents in their cars. ...starting to notice some precipitation forming in central and southern OK.
