michsnowfreak
A quick hitting snowstorm hit the other night, temps fell from near 40 to 32 as the snow began almost instantly, and since the storm tracked 70 miles further NW than projected, my area saw a quick thump of snow (2.2" imby but 3.0" at DTW) which melted in a day. The snow was like walking through mashed potatoes, and it was as April-esque as Ive ever seen for a Feb snow. As the L passed overhead the temps warmed and the grass sucked up almost all the snow by late afternoon imby (NW of Detroit retained some snowcover), so the gap continues to widen on snowfall in inches and 1"+ snowcover days this winter. We have now accumulated 25.2" of snow this season with just 20 days of 1"+ snowcover. This is known as the "year without a winter" almost nationwide, so I am thankful we have gotten the snow we have, but when the longest consecutive days you have gone all winter without seeing grass-pickers is 5 days, its hard to believe its Michigan. As I went to bed with snow heavily falling the trees started to get a gorgeous plaster... b but as I woke up the plaster was already gone and dripping began. So I slept through the scenery!
