Snow itch got a good scratchin tonight. 3 mile walk around Montreal, restaurant au pieds de cochon. Snowing hard since 4..mod to occassionally heavy, 5-6 inches now and heavy echoes seem to be developing over us as the back edge nears. Up here they have these mini plows that do the sidewalks and it is really easy to walk around in heavy snow. awesome...

glad your trip worked out! ;)

Coming here late, and only read this page (computer is slo-o-o-o-ow!) Also had to clear the driveway, as my wife is off to visit her dad in Topsham, where they had only a couple inches. Not like Aroostook. I'd tossed out the possibility of 12-18" there yesterday, and even that wasn't high enough.

Snow futzed around here into the early evening, then began accumulating about 7 PM. By 3 AM it was back to flurries, after dumping 9.0" of very moist but not soggy (about 11:1 ratio) snow in 8 hr, and nearly 5" in 3 hr 8-11 PM. Trees were well loaded at sunrise, but the wind has taken care of that, except for all the fir saplings - they're no place to walk today, unless you're a hare.

it is interesting on Sat views, it appears to me that vorticity has spun off the parent low and is adding to your snow and I suspect is further enhancing the tremendous upslope VT is seeing.

nice Ginxy....yes i think this best explains it......its all connected to the tremendous upslope pattern in N VT currently.

this is not a common scenario in MTL either. so its unsusual Mark.

but this willl end up being likely the best event all year in montreal. so good timing.

looks to me based on NWS reports that St. Albans VT got 6 inches as of this morning. so i am happy for that. :) wonder how its going there today, i imagine its flakes in the air but minimal accums, everything is just E in the mountains. would have been a good day for a short drive.

here in ottawa, temps are falling down into the teens now, and blowing snow with a fresh blanket is the order of the wintry day :)

Keep the reports coming whenever you get a chance! I'm heading up to Jay with a few buddies EARLY tomorrow morning...and while powderfreak does an amazing job reporting from Stowe/Mansfield, I'm always left wondering what conditions are like farther north. You're probably one of the closest reporting members to Jay Peak...

heading back out to ski shortly. wouldn't sweat to hard, it's still pouring snow. 4" since I blew the drive out at 8. winds are ripping now, pulling the snow from the trees, still sittin on 21F. drive safe. over knee deep at 6AM+ snow all day, all night? = OMG. pardon the crappy color, early AM, milk run. winds will be working it over pretty hard tonight, beware the styrofoam. have fun.

Pure epicness.  I'm home now... at 1:30pm I had 23" in 24 hours at the 3,000ft snow stake.  Now easily over two feet as its still ripping 2"+ an hour up there.

Base was up to 18".

There's like 16" in town, too!

Sweeeeeett. There seems to be spokes of energy rotating around the massive LP which enhance the upslope even more than usual, looks like another one en-route to re-energize it, think you can hit 3 feet?
