ORH_wxman
18z GFS is still warmer than other guidance but it definitely cooled a good amount...it now gives some front end advisory snows (esp pike northward) before the flip. Def a trend toward the EC/GGEM/Ukie.

CT Rain
What a huge weenie solution it has for the inverted trough/coastal part 2 of the system. The fact that this is a 2-parter makes it a bit more exciting than a typical runaway vort/SWFE type of thing.

I like that you've gotten excited about smaller events the last week or so. You always say you only like big ones, but you were one of the biggest weenies for yesterdays snowfall

Agreed...even if the first part "disappoints" with either more sleet than thought (like 18z GFS) or dryslots faster than you want...you can look forward to another round to try and still make for a good event...or you can try and get both to work out and get a pretty darn nice event. I told phil earlier in the thread that hopefully we get at least 1 part to work out. Its nice having two shots.
ORH_wxman
2 more major model runs and we get this inside of 84h...that is the benchmark I'm aiming for to set any kind of expectations for this system.

Damage In Tolland
Ray is forced to root against this happening since he has put all his hopes and wishes into the futility record. Even if he gets invested in this it doesn't count..since he has posted countless times how he wants nothing but the futility record. ORH_wxman
Only 96 more hours to screw this up. I wonder how it will screw it up this time. Meteorologically speaking I could see it getting too sheared out and turn into a disorganized 1-3" event with sleet and then the leftover vortmax doesn't produce anything except upslope snow for powderfreak because it tracks north of us.
