ORH_wxman
I hate that game. They so frequently seem to dwindle into a pathetic consolation prize. I'm glad my saw's getting an early tune-up. Well part 1's upside has never been really big...unless you believe the NAM. Even the best Euro runs had 4-6 on the front. I wouldn't mind more of the energy being held back for a more potent second burst. Euro seems to try and do that, but doesn't quite get it going on part 2... its ok for eastern areas. Regardless, the general theme of this bowling ball running into some confluence has been on the table and that usually means we'll see at least some snow out of this. I do not think people should get too high or too low when the event is 78-120 hours out covering start to finish.

HoarfrostHubb
I think hunchback is ready for the melt pile. LolIt was just 1 euro run. Still a lot of guidance to support a snowy outcome. This was a bit of a surprise, but several (Phil for example) threw out flags
moneypitmike
You and I both are staying emotionally un-invested in this. I end up with a snowless February if Wed. is a fail. Not really a record I'm interested in but historical none the less if it happens. Yup--sitting with hope, though. But I've been spending time this February stacking wood and burning brush. Not the usual activities for the month. All that said, i've blown through all the wood I cut two springs ago and am actually resorting to buying a cord of wood. Pathetic. Amped
Euro keeps the futility record in tact for ORH and BOS. This would be the 3rd time models shifted south in the short range during the past 10 days!

Ginx snewx
Just remember the SWFE event rules for part 1. Lots of time for worrying about QPF for part 1, part 2 is 5 H dependent.

This would be the 3rd time models shifted south in the short range during the past 10 days! ORH doesn't have a futility record to chase this winter....and BOS would certainly get the 1.3" needed to pass 9.0" on the season on this run. dendrite
One bad run and the bridge jumpers are out in full force It's not a bad run for this winter, but I've been getting a vibe from some in here like we were in line for a MECS. Nothing looks epic about it, but it'll still be nice to see people get some decent accums out of it.

Yeah same here...we're looking pretty good for advisory snowfall in a lot of areas...but caveats are we are still a ways out in a potential 2 part event...there's certainly a couple scenarios in which we could get much higher totals, but for peopel to actually expect that this far out is ludicrous. ORH_wxman
.For the month of February you are close right? Record was a trace back in 1937...0.7" this year. BOS can still tie their record of a trace if they don't get anything on Wednesday.

weatherMA
12z GEM total snow. Hits NYC with part 1 and pike N with part 2 I believe...so you can see the nice little snow hole centered around Tolland, CT.
