gosaints
Understatement. Thanks the GFS is the same with the peaks and valleys as well. Seems like the peaks last a couple days and the valleys are even shorter.
A-L-E-K
Still progressive I would assume? 850s go from +10 to -20 in a couple days over the northern plains.
SpartyOn
Hello Spring!! Just took this pic around 230 pm. FWIW this is the earliest Ive ever seen these come up, even beats out 2010 . Normally they don't flower until the 1-2nd week of March.

What is your season total this year and what was it in 2009-10, since you dont have it in your sig.

cyclone77
Skilling mentioning the multi-day warm period next week, with near 70F temps possible. Some of the models from last night kind of reminded me of 1990. That March started out VERY warm, and had a few spells of significant severe. I have a feeling next week could get very interesting. What is your season total this year and what was it in 2009-10, since you dont have it in your sig. I know, you've been calling for it. Although I'm a little distressed it's been pushed all the way back to March 31. I took my imby snowfall totals out of my sig because it was depressing to be constantly reminded how ****tastic this winter is/was. Two years ago today I was sitting at 23.0" (just under 5" dropped by the big retrograding low on Feb 27/10). That was it though for 2009-10 and 23.0" was my futility record. Today I'm at 17.4". Add 2 or 3" for tomorrow so let's call it 20". Gonna have squeeze ~3" out of the next 7 weeks. Tall task.
SpartyOn
Solid warm 850s creeping well into NE. 0z really goes ape **** with that all to familiar GOA feature. We could have the 1st real Spring torch very soon. FWIW 6z GFS continues the progressive trend.

hawkeye_wx
00z Euro ends the torch for this area after only one day, Tuesday. After that a big trough moves in and stays for at least a few days. A few runs ago the Euro had three torchy days next week.

SpartyOn
Please correct if im wrong...It looks that some of the notorious anti cold blocking features quasi (no blocking) are making a comeback. The strong GOA low and a strong speed PAC jet signal.
LizardMafia
Pulled my car out of the garage this morning, and instantly all my windows became fogged up. A few runs ago the Euro had three torchy days next week. That would be the first time that happened in a very long time. 12z GFS shows a chance at winter on Friday. Then warm-up next week followed by brief cool down, then trees start to bud through mid-month.

hawkeye_wx
Nice to see the 12z Euro back off on the speed of the next trough next week. It would be nice to get two days of warmth. If we can get a low temp in the 50s Wednesday morning, as the models suggest, highs well into the 60s seems very possible if the front can hold off.
