snowstormcanuck
it's funny, but this time of year cold becomes nothing more than an annoyance to me. But when you consider how abysmal this winter was the annoyance factor is multiplied by 100. It's like you just want old man winter to finish picking up the rest of **** and get the hell out of here.... he was worthless all season anyways. Won't have to worry about that much longer. Looks like trees will be fully leafed by Easter per 12z GFS.

hawkeye_wx
Not surprisingly we are underperforming today, despite full March sun, thanks to a single digit start and fresh snow. We still haven't made it up to freezing. We are going to need half the day tomorrow just to get rid of our snow cover. I hope we can still hit 60. cyclone77
37 here, while cooler southwest at MLI where they had an inch of snow yesterday. We still have a few patches left from that very wet snow that fell last Friday. Just goes to show how dense that snow was, as normally that much would have been gone by now. Geos
High temperatures have been adjusted down here to 31°. Too many clouds and snow cover is keeping things cool. Tomorrow will probably be a struggle to get to 50°, especially if radiational cooling is a factor tonight! or clouds.

Snowstorms
What a cold day today. It was like 5 to 7F in the morning, incredible. No snow on the ground. Forget this.
daddylonglegs
Sitting at 34F...clouds have thinned a lot and mostly sun again. Need most of that snow to melt today south of us for a nice toasty Tuesday. NWS was saying Taylor county (northeast of here) still had 19 inches this morning sitting on the ground! Geos
SE/E WI is going to struggle with this 2 day warm up. Areas north of there will probably be in the low 40s at best. Today ended up being about 5° below guidance.

Gonna go from a total winter wonderland to a total mud and brown lanscape in less than 24 hrs - gross. at least the pussbags will be happy and can take their kids to the park. spring sucks - march and april should be winter months... may can be spring and extend summer through oct as falls are never cold anymore anyways. Same can be said about a massive chunk of Milwaukee. The NW side of that town is a close cousin to Detroits East Side. Not too mention Milwaukee has a national reputation for how not to run a public school system as they are failing just like Detroit. White flight is sucking that town of a tax base just like Detroit. Also notable is Milwalkee is still one of the 10 poorest cities per population in the country....Just like Detroit. We have much in common. With the exception of the colder by the lake in spring. Lol weather wise we might as well be night and day.

michsnowfreak
Over 4" here, everything is covered, just incredible outside. Also beat out the biggest event of the winter season, with 4.25". Some of the morning snow was completely lost due to melting, so if I took my 24hr snow from the snowboard it would be about 4.5 to 4.75" WOW I knew it snowed there but geez! Only 0.1" here this morning. Are you in Toledo proper? It sometimes amazes me the difference between Detroit and Toledo, as if the MI/OH border is some sort of magic divide.. Usually it is Detroit seeing so much more snow, this time it was Toledo.

Average-wise Detroit and La Crosse are near identical and Milwaukee is a few inches more. But out of the 3 climates, Id pick La Crosse as they are usually in the tundra with winter-long snowcover being the norm not a nice surpise like 2010-11. kevlon62
Skilling going with a high of 62 tomorrow and 63 Weds. We are still holding on to snowcaked trees and solid cover on the ground. Hard to believe after I drove from Elmhurst with just scattered plowed piles to this. It will be something to see 60 here tomorrow.

In the spring Milwaukee tends to be cooler then Detroit, but there is a lot of foggy days to go along with that lake cooling. I guessing Detroit has more 90° days then Milwaukee. I know some summer Milwaukee may have 1 or 2 or none!

Geos
Detroit - 12 Milwaukee - 9 Flint -7 Chicago - 17 I take it those are the 90° days. For some reason it seems like Milwaukee has fewer then that. I know the summer of 2008 it failed to reach 90°. I wouldn't have thought Chicago has that many! Of course ORD is further from the cooling effect of the lake. For UGN I would say the average is close to Milwaukee's tally. Edit: Off my records since the summer of 1997. 10.5 days of 90+ is typical. Most of the 90s are no higher then 92-93. turtlehurricane
0 °C 850 hPa isotherm is coming through at 35 kt. Still -3 °C at 925 hPa with weaker WAA since winds are more parallel to the gradient at that level, for the moment.
Ottawa Blizzard
Won't have to worry about that much longer. Looks like trees will be fully leafed by Easter per 12z GFS. You just have to wonder if March will torch and we then get a hard April freeze. April 1975 saw a massive snowstorm and this winter has been somewhat similar to 1974-75.
