OhioBlizzard
Once those winds shift, the radar will light up like fire. I say by 10 am the western side of Lake Erie will be lit up and by the lunch hour it will have reached Cleveland. The rush hour today will probably end up seeing the heaviest stuff (but I'm not sure it will be sticking to the pavement). yea should intensify quickly. probably have a hard time sticking to the pavement unless its really coming down or close to dark. Most is melting on contact right now. Lake Michigan has a solid band going which is a good sign for us
NEOH
Picked up just under an inch last night. Nice to wake up and see everything white for change. Temps aren't that cold so snow is having tough time sticking to pavement. You can see the wind shift on radar coming across the western basin. Looks like the low is somewhere around southern lake huron. Hopefully we'll see the forecasted totals from CLE verify. Even if the totals are cut in half, it will seem like a winterwonderland out there. Just hoping for enough snow to pull our 18 month old around the neighborhood in a sled. Trent
Snow is melting quickly downtown from the ground up. All the plows are out but with nothing sticking to pavement, nothing to do. Doubtful any plowing/shoveling will be needed until nightfall.

FL510
About 0.5" at 1,100 ft. in Chagrin, but in the base of the valley and in Solon a lot of green grass is still visible even though we are heaving a steady -SN.
Trent
Accumulations are a huge struggle right now. Uphill battle until dusk.
OHweather
It's snowing enough to accumulate out here. Radar is really lit up, we'll see how long this lasts.
dta1984
In Solon its definitely sticking. Grass is covered, cars, and areas of the parking lot with no salt have some snow also. Coming down much better now than earlier this morning.
Trent
Just took a walk downtown. Absolutely brutal with 42mph winds. Snow is just whipping but still not sticking. I've never seen it where the snow gets harder and more intense but the snow on the ground is melting faster than it's falling. Bizarre.

NEOH
Snow was ripping for awhile in lyndhurst. No problem with accums.Roads are covered and are being plowed. Temp dropped to 30 when the heavier snow started.

dta1984
Car said 30 degrees on the way home. Roads definitely have snow on them. 271 had several accidents. Hard to tell how much so far...2-3" looks right. OHweather what are your thoughts on how this is shaping up?
OHweather
Im not at a computer but close to blizzard conditions out here right now. maybe a brief respit over the next few hours before true lake effect flairs up this evening?
OhioBlizzard
probably about three here right now. Roads are covered now. Be nice once the actual lake effect starts later tonight. I should add I'm in streetsboro
carumba
Snowing moderately still here in Chagrin Falls. Hard to say how much accumulation as the wind is blowing like crazy. The grass is almost totally covered now, I'd say somewhere north of 3".
Trent
Roads started becoming snow covered downtown around 3:30. Big fat flakes now and about 0.25 miles visibility driving home. It's a shame all of this couldn't have fallen during the non daylight hours, places would have 2-3x the snow depth.
FL510
Roads are really bad in Chagrin. Traffic is very slow, I'd guess around 5" on the ground, but I'll get my ruler out later.

Glad we finished our Xmas shopping back just after Thanksgiving. I couldn't imagine dealing with the first big snow of the season; I always find that drivers have forgotten how to behave in the snow. It usually takes a couple of storms before people's behavior falls in line with the laws of physics.
OhioBlizzard
have to go out and measure look to have maybe 5" but it really windy so could be some drifting. I know chardon already has 8-
NEOH
picked up anywhere from 5 - 6 inches. its impossible to measure with the strong winds. i'd say 90% of the snow fell before midnight. the LES was a bust, but the enhancement delivered. FL510
7" here in Chagrin Falls. Difficult to measure but we don't get the lake winds here in the valley, so the depth is fairly consistent. Looks like 2" on the ground in CLE and CAK. Anyone know what Edgewater/BKL looks like?

I had a little over 2", that doesn't include the 0.8" that fell Thursday night/Friday morning but melted during the day. So about 3" total. With over 12 hours of gusts in the mid 40 mph range all the snow is just in drifts.
Trent
Well, that Christmas Night snowstorm is slowly being modeled a bit more intense now. Perhaps a 2-3" refresher snow? Then the big show on Wednesday? Things are changing quickly in a hurry!
OHweather
About 7" out in Reminderville after taking several measurments. Certainly a nice little storm. Unfortunetely the mid-level moisture pulled east a few hours faster than thought a day or so in advance which ended the lake effect a little earlier than hoped, but it certainly came down hard yesterday afternoon and evening. OhioBlizzard
Ended up with 7.5 to 8.0" in streetsboro. Seemed kind of high to me,so i got on cocorahs and the spotter about 1 mile from my house had 7.5" so seems valid. Turned out to be a nice event for most on here and we got a lot coming up
