DTW picked up 1.7" in 1.5 hours as of midnight. I was at 1.3" at 12:20am. It was REALLY coming down for a while, but a warning is such a joke lol. The roads are mainly wet with a tad but of slush...whereas driving was a nightmare on Feb 10/11 with not even an advisory. Once the dryslot hits Im wondering if we see convective snow squalls and temps inching back up. Its like an April snow out there. Will find out in the morning. Hate saying it but it reminds me of Jan 1, 2008 lol, which was one horrible storm (for me) in an otherwise fantastic winter.

The deformation looks extremely healthy and a warning was very needed. This is 2 punch storm.

Nice pictures. I had a bad feeling hours ago that we were only going to end up with 1-3".

Thanks for the welcome! Still flurries. I went to hop in the tub for a soak (Arthritis and fibro) and expected a bit more when I got out. However, it appears we're still just on the edge here and those bands from Royal Oak are about ten miles to the south now, so I expect it will pick up some pretty sudden.

Light snow now, round 1 winding down.Gonna catch some z's now, wake up in a few hours to see if there's anything worth staying up for...still a thundersnow virgin :(

I was but a wee tyke in 1967, but I clearly remember the thundersnow in that big blizzard. It looked just like a severe summer storm, with C-C lightning going across the sky like pitchforks while silver dollar-sized flakes dropped by the zillions. it was incredible, to say the least.

Im aware of that. another 2" would mean 4". It will be a grind especially around that area to hit 4"+ Temps forecasted in the mid 30's tomorrow wont help

Honestly look at the deformation band, which is sinking southeast as the low pressure wraps up and begins to move north. Does that really look like it will only drop another two inches? Did you notice how fast the temps dropped when precip started tonight? I dont buy another 1-2 inches before this is all done. Really dont.

I hope Im wrong I really do. I just dont like the set up of this storm. I got to be honest Ive been holding it in four a few hours now. I see no change I believe its flat out miss really. I think will be in serious dry slot tomorrow while areas north into the thumb and saginaw valley gets warning type snows. Will see I guess
