ski MRG
I think my final forecast for here will be 2-4"...though I may leave it at 1-3" if GFS looks really ugly or something like that. What about WNE?
weatherMA
If the nam is right for CT, epic busts could be in order for that region. Most maps I have seen still favor ORH north, but rain doesn't seem to be a big issue anymore.
ski MRG
I wonder if the southerly trend of this 1st batch is being driven by the low bombing out over Nova Scotia. Develops just enough confluence to pinch this S. Mahk brought this up about 2 hours ago. Seems plausible.
ORH_wxman
What about WNE? I'd prob go 3-5 for your area...but maybe less up by MPM...the band might be stronger as it enters W MA.
Baroclinic Zone
Mahk brought this up about 2 hours ago. Seems plausible. I'd feel pretty good if I were you right now. Nice front end snow.

Snow Bow
Well Scott was looking for a model bust a la boxing day 2011, seems like he might get albeit not anywhere near the magnitude that storm was, but more the fact the models not really locking in. weatherwiz
Good Lord...I think the 0z NAM here could give me like 2'' of snow perhaps...although not sure how much QPF has fallen through 15z but soundings definitely cold enough through 15z then some sneaky warm air works in around 850. weatherMA
1-2 for all ...basically they have no idea.
wxmanmitch
New NAM keeps the heaviest of the first batch south of us, but brings it in enough so that we'd get a few inches. More specifically, I'm thinking 3-5" for Pete and I, 2-3" up by MPM. Batch two starts as rain, maybe some freezing rain on the east slope, before ending as brief burst of snow. We might get an inch or two from that, but we have a strong upslope signal for tomorrow night during CAA. Depending on how this transpires, it could bring several inches of additional snow for someone, especially N Berks, S Greens. Northern Greens are going to get smoked with wrap around and upslope. wxmanmitch
My jackpot pick for first batch is probably the southern Catskills and NW hills of CT. Someone here could walk away with a 6" total, if the mega bands transpose eastward.
CoastalWx
So now all of NH is counting on that second round At least less new snow means a closer start to hacky sack season.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the forecast here haha. I'm trying to get home tomorrow anyway, so a clear morning is fine by me!
NorEaster27
Wow, the NAM is just an awful model, goes from 1.25+ of QPF in the adriondacks to .25 in one run.

I think 4-8" total by Saturday AM is reasonable. I'll be at MRG for most of this but it'll be nice to get home to groom the trails here. This is just what the doctor ordered. CoastalWx
We'll have to watch how that edge of the precip shield in srn Michigan and Lake Erie behaves. Any northward component helps out those north of the CT/RI border.
