Yeah, I think this is going to be a bust. Not a big surprise to be honest. NAM always overdoes things and yet we continue to believe it.

Absolutely nothing so far.

Even the warmer GFS and EURO had us well below freezing when the pcpn was supposed to start. That being said, tds are still in the -3 to -4c range so we should be able to wet bulb down below freezing. Hopefully.

Hopefully. Weather Network now calling for only about an inch in total up in Markham/north Toronto

Lightening strike in Verona, WI last night (~3AM) hit something to do with gas and caused the evacuation of about 15 homes. Only one home was filled with gas, but has since been vented. Everybody is back where they belong. Was an impressive strike, though.

+SN the last 20 minutes. Everything coated up. Maybe 1/2-3/4" down.

To say the radar reflectivities upstream from you suck is an understatement. I didn't even expect it to be THAT bad.

But, you did get more snow than most of us (and a heavy burst of snow). Congrats.

I'm holding out for that huge dry slot today. It's several hours away of course, but hopefully when it gets here we can at least see some sunshine today and get into the 50s. Unlikely, but one can hope.

I know we don't have any posters there...but there are some very impressive snow totals in N WI so far...and it's still snowing.

8 miles W of Merrill WI, they have 16"...including 7" in a 2.5 hour period from 6AM to 8:30 AM.

The highest total I've officially seen so far is 17" in Crandon, WI. I believe Rhinelander has about 17" too...with the NWS saying that local amounts near 24" are possible. This storm is definitely an overperformer...just not in the areas that the models originally showed.

NWS Green Bay:

VILAS-ONEIDA-FOREST-FLORENCE-NORTHERN MARINETTE-LINCOLN-LANGLADE-

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...EAGLE RIVER...RHINELANDER...CRANDON...

TOMAHAWK...ANTIGO

832 AM CST WED FEB 29 2012

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS

EVENING...

* SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY THIS MORNING.

* TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 14 TO 20 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH

LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 2 FEET POSSIBLE. BLUSTERY NORTHEAST

WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLOWING SNOW AND NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY AT TIMES.

SOME SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN MAY BRIEFLY MIX WITH THE SNOW

MIDDAY. AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM IS ALSO POSSIBLE THIS MORNING.

Closing on an inch on grassy areas in downtown Toronto while roadways are just wet. Radar is showing another strong pluse of snow just to the west of Toronto.

Same here. If we get 2" considering how much warmer sfc temps were than the models progged and considering that the convection across OH/PA did rob a lot of our moisture, that's a pretty big victory.

I can't believe this. They cancel school before school even opened this morning. That is the first time that has happened up here. We are only going to get 4 inches today. Sure northern Wisconsin got two feet this morning, but that was due to frontegenesis. That isn't going to happen here. Already there is dry slotting moving into south central UP. Everyone at work is wound up about this big storm. Well Sunday when we got 12 inches and they ran around shopping and now we get a few inches they act like the world is ending. By the way most of my coworkers are women.

Haha. Kids need at least one snow day a winter! What better day to have off, then leap day! Good luck up there!

Is the University open today?!
