Avdave
I think he knows that. Thank you remain vigilant hold me? Purdy severe rainbow over I-66 E a moment ago: Funny how even the rainbow wont follow I 66, since it goes over the roadway, smart rainbow. Nice pic though bro Heat Fail, Severe Fail, Forest fire fail, Mid-Atlantic Fail. Outside of So. Md and nearby, this has been a complete failure. At least our region is consistent .01 of rainfall today, pretty severe
MN Transplant
climo is a biotch This was a bad bust for LWX. Everybody was talking about the warmth today, and then the failure of it to materialize. Almost a half inch precip on the day. Can see a little sky to the west. WVclimo
Wind has kicked in here, gusting to 36 mph so far. Temp never got above 47 all afternoon, but has just spiked to 53 with the onset of the winds. Partly Cloudy, barometric pressure is a low 29.37"
stormitecture
Headed back. Not much to report, but did decently. Some high winds, blinding core rains, and got the rust out of the way for getting the season underway. Even treated to a nice view headed back (we crossed to the backside for a rainfree drive home via i-85). Didn't even really get much video and zero pics (aside from some iPhone stuff). PhineasC
Wasn't it supposed to be windy today? It's like LWX accidentally forecast for the wrong week or something.
MDstorm
Wasn't it supposed to be windy today? It's like LWX accidentally forecast for the wrong week or something. Still supposed to be gusty winds tonight. However, this is still a terrible same day forecast bust. MDstorm

Kmlwx
Still foggy here so I guess the front is not yet through here. Phineas - I think the front has slowed, therefore delaying the winds. The temps were the big fail today.
winterymix
Plastered, raked and pouring with foggy drizzle all day. Top wind gusts...maybe 11 mph atop the skyscapers of Towson.

winterymix
We got it in Reisterstown. I let our kitten out at 7 pm into cool, calm foggy drizzle. About 45 minutes ago, I could hear wind shreaking through the surrounding forest. A few minutes ago I opened the front door to sustained 25 to 35 mph sustained winds and a scared kitty. Avdave
Damn, a neighbors trampoline at the far end of the street here is now halfway down the road in the middle of the road. Its a pretty good size trampoline, that wind is whipping pretty good. DP 2 recorded a 46 mph gust as the highest so far here in the burg

Its a pretty good size trampoline, that wind is whipping pretty good. DP 2 recorded a 46 mph gust as the highest so far here in the burg That's not cool that they didn't have the trampoline anchored. We had something come through here during a thunderstorm last July that brought down 2 mature trees in my yard and tore the roof off of the house up the road. I thought it was a small tornado from what I saw after. I wasn't home and I'm not qualified to judge damage and LWX never noted it. But our kids' big trampoline in the yard didn't move. Bob Chill
Aleet Aleet I'm walking the dog in condition alpo. This is not a test......wait a minute......i just saw a grill cover blow by with a glen echo license plate. If i had a vantage pro i'm pretty sure it would be reading sustained 50's with gusts to 70. Kmlwx
Pretty significant fire on my block (not typical to have 15 firetrucks on such a narrow street). PD on scene too. I have a hard time believing this wasn't related to the wind. No power outage on rest of street, though so maybe not. Maybe they just decided to have a fire in their backyard despite the winds. Occupants are OK it seems. Sorry for OT but could be wind damage related.
PhineasC
I must live in the most boring part of town. I swear some of you always seem to have roofs ripping off, trees coming down, fires starting, transformers blowing and general chaos in the streets while I look out my window and see a light breeze most times. You have a 2012-proof zone - We are all doomed. EDIT: Was informed that the homeowners dumped out charcoal from a grill near their house and that is how the fire started. Stupid... CranberryWX
We drove through some heavy snow squalls around Beckley on the way back from Winterplace this evening. With the wind the snow was blinding in the headlights coming right at you. I was glad they were brief. In one place it was laying on the road by the middle set of toll booths.
