Hilltop avoiding non-isallobaric wind from heaven... UKMET/Euro try to save society as we know it

18z NAM really hits the north country hard - given how crappy the winter has been...at face value that run looks like it would be one of the better events of the entire season for some folks up there?

unfortunately, we aren't inside of 18 hours, so the NAM can't be relied upon yet.

I go north once this winter and they get buried. I swear almost every time I've gone they get hammered going all the way back to the retro New Years eve storm several years ago.

Bringing my red columbia jacket so I can look like the dude in Powderfreaks photos.

Lots of :weenie: out there today. Surprising given how the season has disappointed. Quite apparent how emotionally involved Tip is on both these events

Well, I for one would be happy with a surprise 1" or 2"...in a normal winter this would hardly be worth looking at here. The last time I saw accumulating snow beyond a trace was 33 days ago....so I'd be pumped for 2" of snow. Plus I enjoy tracking it too for CNE even if I get nothing out of it here.

You're welcome...

You'll be close to the edge, but more frozen than not I think.

actually I'll be driving out of Webster Friday morning at 8am up 89 to montreal...lol. Hopefully I come home to a nice snow cover. You are welcome btw! That is the GYX NNE Weenie's favorite phrase! Throw it out there whenver you feel like it!

Yeah I just saw those SREF snow probs too. Really nice up here with 75% for 4"+ and a low prob of 8". It's about time to lock in a snowy Friday morning. Hopefully everyone outside today enjoying the 50s falls into a deep depression in 2 days.

BTV saying warning criteria in the MTNs and advisory in valleys. I agree with that. It will be a paste storm in the lower elevations below 1000ft.

Upslope still looks really good late in the storm. That's what will really boost totals here once it tapers off elsewhere and should make up for any less QPF.

Mountains get 2-5" tonight and tomorrow, then another 3-6" Friday followed by 3-6" upslope on Friday night and Saturday. Game on.

I like 8-16" for the the northern Greens from tonight through Saturday evening. Isolated higher amounts near summits especially if the upslope machine really gets cooking.

Cue the guy in the red jacket that looks like the Dos Equis' guys kid.

How much snow for Loon/Waterville/Bretton would you guys think?

4-8" seems reasonable? Anything Thursday?

there can be a pretty big difference between waterville and bretton. i don't have a ton of experience up there but on a bunch of occasions i've seen waterville and loon not fair as well as bretton woods.

LOL already have ski models lined up for marketing. I'll try to get my buddy to mix it up. We've gone to the ski shop and borrow the latest jackets for photo shoots...but right now two on my regular ski guys have red jackets. Shows up nicely against fresh pow ;)

I think you'll get more than 8"...also keep in mind Bretton Woods gets solid upslope on the northern Whites. Good family area but they also downslope a bit on SE flow. Northern NH should get into snow tomorrow morning too...BTV thinking as much as half inch QPF with this first system so if NNH gets into that the 48 hour totals will get into the 7-14" range above 1500ft.

That's what I've noticed too. They can do upslope as well as Northern VT in this set up. Loon and Waterville wont get anything once wind goes NW.

They could really use it, although I would think few people are deciding this week to head up for the weekend (if they have not already made plans).

Snow machines could use it. Plus, some areas got 2" last night
