QC_Halo
Uptown Charlotte. Nada. Not a sleet pellet, not flake. Can't say I'm disappointed. I really didn't care about this much. Just want to be able to get to TN tomorrow.
Cold Rain
Finally seeing a few snowflakes mix with the sleet. Starting to see sleet coat the ground. Looks like about 20-30 more minutes to go.

SBUWX23
looks like the radar echoes to the NW of Raleigh are sinking southeast now. This may be apart of the northern stream vort max and deformation zone.

blueheronNC
Nice deformation band forming NW of the Triangle. If that rotates through, it should give that area some bonus snow.

AirNelson39
I don't recall seeing any of the roads being treated around here beforehand, either. That would be bc it rained before hand, would be pointless and a waste of no ey to treat roads and have it washed away by rain. They pre treat roads when precip is progged to begin as all frozen or below freezing

eyewall
Well the deformation band produced after all! Too bad it didn't last a bit longer. Picked up an inch within 40 minutes or so after starting out as heavy sleet. I got some great video from downtown Chapel Hill which I will post as soon as I can. WidreMann
Am I seeing things or does it look like the radar is trying to feel back in to the west of Wake County? You're seeing things. Those things just happen to be real. The band does seem slower moving than the first one. But there's nothing behind it. Maybe there'll be more backfill since there still seems to be lift over the area.
