wx4life
Well just checked outside and it's VERY light snow if it was any lighter it would be drizzle. Beggers can't be choosy. same here although the sleet started picking up again and it looks to be mixed with very light snow.
Cold Rain
The area of the heaviest returns is going to move over my house within an hour or so if it holds course and doesn't dissipate. If I don't get IP or SN with that, it aint happening in this part of the county.
TriadDeac
NW High Point Nice moderate snow Everything is covered 32.2 Looks to be ending soon though
SBUWX23
its not over after that. See my posts above. Long Range TWDR data shows snow behind this still. RAH and GSP radars are not picking it up. The area of the heaviest returns is going to move over my house within an hour or so if it holds course and doesn't dissipate. CoolBreeze
I was looking at the radar returns in TN. Does it appear to anyone else that the returns are "filling in" around Knoxville? Could this be the 850 low about to make its run east into NC?
WeatherNC
svr warning just up for the OBX, nasty squall line just formed along the inner banks, middle of the sound and rocking per l2
HKY_WX
the back edge on radar is not a true depiction of the back edge. it passed here an hour ago and we've had light snow the entire time with some new reflections coming in. whenever you have an 850 low like this, you often get light snow with no returns on radar. i've seen this happen several times before almost have an inch. looks like we might make the prediction after all in the hky area. cg2916
36 and all precip has stopped here. Looks like that's the end of our night, as nothing seems to be forming on the radar for us. Congrats to all who got the snow. Looks like my winter is snowless.
calculus1
its not over after that. See my posts above. Long Range TWDR data shows snow behind this still. RAH and GSP radars are not picking it up. I can verify this with observations too. Just checked outside again and it is snowing moderately even though there is nothing showing up on GSP's radar. Really pretty falling too! What a treat!

wh_adkins01
Happy for everyone seeing snow tonight..."almost" everyone here deserves it! Good news on the other side is that this current system seems to be the precursor to a very interesting final installment of winter..we shall see but I do believe the best is yet to come for much of the SE...Good luck to everyone! BIG FROSTY
Heavy sleet staarted at 6:00, then we went completely all snow. Still pouring. Roads are completely covered, approaching an inch and heading back outside to ejoy. Congrats Bro, glad you getting in on the action! I would say i'm close to having 2 inches on the ground now, still snowing lightly...
NC_WX10
Just hit two inches here from that heavy band.it's still coming down at a pretty good clip though.I'm kind of encouraged by a few of the mets saying alot of the moisture isn't showing up on radar. Hopefully we can get some more through out the night.
Busick
Snowing moderate here right now about an inch on the ground and everything is covered
dntjr
How does it snow without anything on radar? That happened here earlier. Weird. It has more to do with the reflectivity- check out the NOAA site and look at TDWR for Charlotte- it is a lot better for picking up snow than GSP or Blacksburg base reflectivity
HKY_WX
http://www.wunderground.com/radar/map.asp link to TWDR radar sites. yellow sites are the ones. great post by ncsuwx. the charlotte site is picking up on the returns over top of us that nexrad and grl composite is not. Moose4
34 and rain, maybe a little sleet mixed in, here in the Bull City. Crossing fingers for some snow action out of it later on.

Settle down and be patient, this wasn't supposed to be any Carolina crusher for goodness sakes. Didn't others on here report snow earlier near your area? Remember, at least you have something to track......you could be like all of us down here tracking showers with temps in the low 50's.
superjames1992
I think this is going to be a dud for me. I doubt I will even see one flake. Do you not see those monster returns moving towards Wake County on radar?

SBUWX23
some people probably dont realize im posting from Long Island too where nothing is happening (only have seen 5 inches of snow this winter too). rduwx
Just came back inside. Moderate rain falling at the moment. Looks like the heavy returns on radar are going to go right over my house. Hopefully that'll switch us over to something frozen.
