Its a great message this board sent the average user, lurker, etc. So many posts about the snow not being able to stick to roads because of the warm temperatures.

Hopefully those users are online tonight and not on the roads, typical warmista bias in thinking a warm ground/surface can't be overcome by decent rates...

Frying Pan Shoals down to 1000.6 as of 530pm and still falling with a N wind, buoy 41NM east of CHS bottomed at around there, 29.55 at 450pm with a SSW wind... ~1000mb 50 miles ese of ILM, should deepen to 995-993 over the next 6 hours, 100 miles east of HAT.

Still just sleet here in south CLT.

Ahh....Burgerman gets to enjoy the wonderful world of sleet :) I'm happy for you...you got your storm a week late..but you got some! Hope the flakes come if the pellets aren't enough.

I got a bit over 1.6 of the juice, so I'm content, until the next chance later in the month. T

Nah I need to see some flakes man! I got nearly an inch of sleet in 2010 and hated it!

Maybe some folks have not seen much snow? When you've seen it stick, though the ground/street was warm, and it was 70 the day before, you never forget that lesson. T

looking at the full resolution radar mosaic right now...not seeing ANY signs of any wrap around moisture on the back side on the east side of the apps...and with little to no precip rotating down from KY, starting to get a little worried now...

Edit: Is anyone seeing something that I am not seeing?

Radar hasn't been very impressive all day in western NC. Folks around Charlotte getting snow/sleet should feel fortunate

You are one sick puppy :) Send me all your extra next time, you can trade for all my snow. Best storm I ever saw was near 6 inches of sleet. World stopping! I'll take that over a foot of sn every time, lol. Sun was poking out a few hours back, so count your blessings. T

Hate to think negative but still just sleet here. Might be a big ol bucket of fail for even seeing flakes fly as this band seems to be close to moving through. Hopefully get another burst move through before it all passes.

I haven't seen any flakes here either. I'm curious to see what happened at the airport, what does it take to record a Trace??

What happened with that trailing energy that was progged by all the models to reignite precipitation over the area through the late evening and early morning hours?

Judging by the radar, there is a spoke of energy just clearing the mtns. right now, and another back in central TN- I am not sure if this will re-ignite the precip over central and eastern NC
