Sunny and Warm
Tom, I never realized that you missed 93 and 96! I've been in the following big ones of 15" or greater: Feb 72 - IPT 30" (only storm in the mountains in a year similar to 11-12) Jan 78 - IPT 16" (had 3 doozys in a week, with this being the largest) Feb 83 - ABE 22" (massive snow rates) Feb 87 - ABE 17" (non-descript and surprising storm that hit during the day and shut everything down by evening) Mar 93 - ABE 21" (who can forget this storm. The second time I'd ever experienced whiteout conditions. Amazing) Jan 96 - ABE 28" (got 8-10 during Sunday, and woke up Monday morning with the other 20". Blizzard at 3am similar to 83 storm) Feb 03 - ABE 22" (PDII - what I remember is the cold temps, which were under 10 for storm, winds, and quick start to heavy snow after the virga ended) Since 2003, there have been several more in the 12-20" range, but Tom has that covered. Looking back, I guess I've been very blessed to have witnessed some of the great ones.

dryslotted
My therapy throughout the winter has been to relive some of the above mentioned mentioned events through Ray's archive. Mem-or-rees...lol... My earliest epic snowstorm memory was standing waist deep in snow as a 7 year old the morning after the Feb 83 blizzard. I've been hooked since
phlwx
lolz it's either this or the 6z gfs. I'm actually kinda happy we're not getting dumped on this winter (as of yet)...I'm gladly appreciating the break after two winters of non-stop shoveling and salting. Parsley
Whenever I need a snow fix, I go to that happy place in my memory... 1999 (March 4th-March 7th) - Two snowstorms in a little over three days dumped 43.2 inches of snow on Rochester, NY. dryslotted
Not sure what to do with the snowblower. I suppose I should let her run for a bit before shutting her down for the season. She's given up even looking at me forlornly at this point...
