H2Otown_WX
What winter was the warmest? Never mind, on the first page, duh
Isotherm
Feb here will finish at 39.1 degrees second behind 39.4 in 1998. Winter mean of 38.7 second to 39.5 in 2001-02. (Based on 35 years of record) Similar numbers here in Monmouth County Don. December: 41.5F (+4.5) January: 37.1F (+6.1) February: 39.2F (+5.2) DJF temp departure: +5.26, with a mean temperature of 39.26F Incredible run of extreme positive departures. Not sure where this stacks up for Monmouth, but I'd imagine with those temp departures, it's probably #2. 2001-02 might be the only DJF mean temp at or above 40F for this area. Isotherm
Anyone have stats regarding the temp departure needed for March for DJFM to be the warmest on record?
Isotherm
The other 2 warmest winters in NYC turned around for March re United States temp anomalies. March 2002: March 1932: Given the way this March is looking, we're probably going to see the warmest DJFM period on record (might as well throw November in there too). SnoSki14
Based on what I'm seeing on the models for this month, March could be a top 3 warmest month as well. Sustained 60s next weeks and possibly the week after, were going to blooming weeks and weeks before were supposed to.
