IWXwx
I played frisbee golf 4 times in Feb. Unheard of in a normal winter. The amount of sunny days was something to be proud of also. I used to play frisbee golf back in the '80's. There weren't many courses around then. We've got a new one here in town. They are starting a new league this year. I'm too old and creaky to take it up again. Record high for FWA is 66. Don't think we can make it before the front blows through. Point-n-click for them is 62 and 64 for me. It's only 39 here at 5:30 AM.

kevlon62
Pea soup anyone? Eighth to Quarter mile visibility at best. Fog advisory seems warranted at the moment. (Edit: Get us an ASOS already!) Snow pack hanging on in places. Maybe one more snowman possible later today.
Geos
Same here kevlon. Visibility was down to about 8 car lengths! Still kinda coolish out there.

hawkeye_wx
Models were extremely consistent showing a third to half inch of rain falling here, and I ended up with about 0.38". I woke up when the heaviest rain was overhead, but I heard no thunder. The temp has fallen from the upper 40s to the 30s with a fairly strong wind. Indystorm
64 presently in Goshen and sunny. Have to say I am amazed by the number and geographical extent of tor reports from this Leap Year system overnight and today. Did not expect this many since my focus was on this upcoming Friday. beavis1729
0.20" of rain so far tonight. The rains have been more showery than steady. A few heavy downpours around but so far they've missed here. Now that the threat for below zero temps are over, this goes down as the warmest minimum temp for the winter I can ever remember since I've been alive. We only dipped below zero twice, which also happened to be 2 days in a row. Both days were -1. It's VERY rare we don't get at least one day at -10 or colder. Just another stat to add to an outrageous winter. Yeah, no cold outbreaks to speak of. The coldest low temp this winter at ORD has been 5F, which is the warmest winter min temp on record. The next warmest was 3F in 1982-83.

hawkeye_wx
The CR airport, which is out in the country, went below zero a few times in January, with a low of -6. However, here in the city we only hit about -1 once. A normal winter would have a few to several lows below -10.

Thunder Road
Our MET290 class did a practice balloon launch today, with gusts to 38 mph at the time. That was fun. Somehow we popped the damn thing and had to get some upperclassmen to fill a new one quickly.
