north pgh
This is what worries me. I (sauss too I'd bet) gets downdrafts from Blue Mountain and that funnels through the river valley and picks up a lot of speed in this little microclimate here. F I hate wind. I hate it too. Home is surrounded by large trees and I cringe with every gust. Btw. I see Dubois just gusted to 52 so the winds are making their way across the state. Lot's of power outages and damage reports coming in from around this area.

MAG5035
Nissan Altima ftw, I dunno how i made it home.. but i'm glad roads cleared once past Johnstown. The stretch of 219 between Somerset and Johnstown was up there in my extreme winter weather driving experiences.
NortheastPAWx
Currently on a bus on I99, just past PSU...visibilities are awful in these squalls.
Mallow
Probably the lowest daytime visibility during a snowfall I've ever seen. We picked up a good 1.5"+ in the past hour. Wow!

canderson
Have a friend who was driving up 81 to Tower City around 8:30, said he couldn't see the road in front of him and pulled off to the side, hitting the guardrail a bit because yea he couldn't see anything. Said it was the scariest squall he's seen.

MAG5035
Next big storm for late next week starting to look at least mildly interesting. It appears we will have a high in place up in Canada that will ultimately force this cutter to fade eastward. 12z GFS doesn't cause too much drama as the storm cuts up too far before being forced under the high giving everyone rain. 12z Euro on the other hand does this further south in what is a pretty complex and drawn out storm. It eventually pops a secondary just off the southern Delmarva coast. North central would see an ice threat from the initial slug of precip due to the cold air hanging alot further south and then more qpf associated with the secondary development ensues with a potential change to ice and snow for central folks as it draws down the cold air boundary.
