nw baltimore wx
Having an extra day of winter because it's a leap year combined with the fact that we will not have moved the clocks forward yet should help with any snow rates we get. Bob Chill
I wish they would move daylight savings to late march or early april. Not that I expect a good snow threat or anything but if one does materialize, that extra hour of sunlight is going to be hard to overcome with that sun angle in play. Ian
I remember a while back.. someone (I think ne balti?) was looking for the histogram of 1" snowfall by day for baltimore like I showed for D.C. I forgot I made one last year for a post and just came across it:
usedtobe
Ian thanks, it does look like after the 2nd wee of March the pickins get slim as the frequency really starts to go down and after the 3rd week nay storm can be classified as a fluke. Bob Chill
Why does the euro have to suck me back in. I've already been keeping one eyeball on the gfs and now the euro has to drive me right down dissappointment blvd. Kinda similar to last weekends even in some aspects. I wish I had access to the euro's 500 vorticity maps. Surface and ull low look really nice @ 168 and there's a big fat 1033 hp just north of the lakes. Good porn if nothing else. Bob Chill
Fitting for a Feb 30th storm, dontcha think? If we actually did score here, Feb 30th would become amwx folklore for decades. I couldn't resist posting a comment in the philly blog. I might have to change my screename to Robert Chillamonte. Has a nice ring to it.
