Tropopause_Fold
well good thing is i only bumped to 3-6 this evening despite some of those big 12z runs. these early 00z runs would make that a reasonable call still.
Clinch Leatherwood
You should do okay still. Probably 4" at least. Nearly smoking cirrus here. What a sh*tty winter. I'm close to throwing in the towel. That poor camel's back is starting to look a little strained. Gun to head here I'd do 2-4" ATTM...but will see what shows up in the next few hours. Phil will do much better.
ChrisM
poor blizz is muttering in his sleep about how great it's going to be waking up going for a nice long run and watching 2-4 pile up. Little does he know there will be as much snow OTG as hair OHB.

NorEastermass128
http://rapidrefresh....v/hrrraviation/ Thanks. Cool site! When did this come out? Is it part of/similar to RUC?
Baroclinic Zone
Getting some -ra right now here. Should help to cool the atmosphere a little. My winds are starting to veer around to the N/NNW. They had been SW for most of the evening.
CoastalWx
Man what a disaster on the models. I hope they are wrong but it would probably make Kevin realize why I was crappy about this for a good chunk of the area.
Clinch Leatherwood
If the HRRR is right on this I'll be shocked. That said it's not bad so far. RUC wants the moisture a little further west too. Cutoff may end up pretty close to me, not sure which side of it I end up on.

I said 2-4 for BOS with it being more 2-3, but I was explaining to him why I thought his area might be in a tough spot. I may bust high, even on the Lowe end but we will see. I'm not encouraged by anything at this point. But then again not much was supposed to be happening overnight. We may be about to see the moisture expand. The major differences between the RGEM which was a very light event and the american duo is they develop the moisture that was exiting NC...which looks like kind of has faded but is possibly being replaced from the south. So many variables, precip over the outerbanks is growing. http://radar.weather...id=mhx&loop=yes
MaineJayhawk
These runs are an Uzi swallower for areas N&W of 95 Well, it's only a couple inches of snow. If it was a 12"+ ... THEN I'd be inserting loaded firearms into my mouth.

HIPPYVALLEY
These runs are an Uzi swallower for areas N&W of 95 Well, I'm not sure most of us were expecting much away from the coast and your caution all week was warranted.

That's right, but in thIs winter 2" is the new 8". In all honesty it will come down to some now casting probably, especially for areas from Bob to BOS. CoastalWx
Some weenie flakes here. I wonder if that band to the south can develop a little more north to help the interior out.

I suppose you and Phil are deserving after last winter. Mini is the operative word. I think my expectations are down to hoping for up to 2". I can't see the QPF output on the UKIE, but it looks to me like it's much like the RGEM. It's possible the american models were overplaying that little node of moisture over the NC region earlier. It's a bit tough to tell because the radar is out north of that region...it could have been just falling in between stations.
CoastalWx
Well, I'm not sure most of us were expecting much away from the coast and your caution all week was warranted. Just joking around. ORH_wxman
I wonder if that band to the south can develop a little more north to help the interior out. We should be pretty well saturated for the duration so any light stuff on the NW side should reach the ground...I could see a steady light snow for several hours for some areas. Hopefully there's enough there to get weak lift over the interior.

You may not have the qpf but 1000' will help offset that a bit if you get light precip as snow and other areas as rain.

I'm actually torn because I love snow but the pond skating is perfect the past few days out here and it's not worth sacrificing it to under 2" of snow.
