That band is not a norlun nor "the" norlun that the models were talking about. The low that will "devolve" into the norlun is still over NW PA (see map above). The norlun will fire up later on today with the arctic boundary moving through...

The 6z NAM shows the snows enhancing for a time across Central PA around 7, 8 AM...more of a mesoscale feature than a norlun.

here is a link to an article that does a good job explaining norlurns.....it is written specific to new england, but you can get the idea. i thought it might be helpful to stop some of the confusion with what exactly constitutes a norlurn and in tracking it later today.
