Ian
Rotton way to compare, but the NAM has about 20dbz echoes over DC proper for 3 time periods. The HRRR does also, but also has 25 dbz echos closeby which the NAM doesn't have. zwyts is right that the latest RUC is pretty lame though. Totally going weenie here though. here's a long loop from state college. i wish they'd switch out of weenie mode. it may be dropping more south than se in parts (the heavier echoes) but there is a se componant. plus i expect it to degrade but if it doesn't i guess the "snowier" idea could be right. TUweathermanDD
The orientation of that band could be very good for me here. Have had light to at times moderate snow, but still waiting on the heavy stuff. Yes could train over baltimore and getting stronger.
mappy
Fozz, I dont know about you... but looking at radar it looks as if the band is moving southish from PA, could mean we are under good returns for a bit

eurojosh
I have to say, watching that whole squall line thing go through on this board reminded me of doing a wave at a soccer stadium... you see it coming, coming, coming, then you jump up in the air, yell "whoah!" then it's over, and you watch it go away from you... Amped
we had some awesome rounds of thunder and lightning here and everything turned white. temps dropped 10 degrees skunk denied here It looked the best in Fredericksburg and south. Wakefield radar is down so I couldn't really see it too well. Looks like you beat us. DC had 50 minutes of snow, and nothing but grass to show for it. Even the "snowier" idea is probably about 3/4". So, there's not going to much difference in how it looks outside either way, whether we get a dusting or a bit more. It's just nice that we have a chance for all surfaces to be covered tonight...

nw baltimore wx
lol This is all rotating through and I might end up right in between the two heavier bands. Looks like the heavier bad is going to pass just to my north.

TUweathermanDD
Watch that stuff that redeveloped around Baltimore as to get an idea of the directional component likely for the Inverted trough stuff. Also, there really does look to be so bay enhancement on the hires models, we'll see if the stuff really does beef right around BAL later.
yoda
GFS is on board for tonight Looks like from 00z to 06z I think... could be some good ratios with 850s -12 to -15...
Stormpc
I don't know what it says about the trajectory of the cold push, but my temp never recovered following the squall. My deck is frozen and any melting snow that did not evaporate, lingers (on fence railing/BBQ cover). Temp is down to 28.6 on my weather station. ThePhotoGuy
At around 4:00, ice "balls" started to cover everything even laying in the roads. Light to Moderate snow for about 10 minutes. Flurrying till about 4:50. Light snow starting to pick up again. Temp 34. It really feels like winter, chilly temps with winds and snow falling.
