GFS and I think the others too has -sn suggested until around 11pm....not sure more than flurries, but with gusty NW winds and temps in the 20s could be kind of cool

yea true, moderate sn, about 1'' on the grass, hoping it will get the pavement soon. Anyways, more stuff developing on the west side into VA around Warrenton, so you're right could be snow until later this morning.

we have to enjoy what we get....the die is cast....this is a sh-it winter up there with the classics....01-02, 49-50, 31-32, etc....the idea that we are going to be salvaged by a KU or "good" period or even a nice I-95 SECS is preposterous at this point...It could happen, but the much more likely scenarios are something less than that including a virtual shutout....so lets enjoy tomorrow whatever happens and maybe Tuesday we'll get a small surprise...and then go from there

yeah, I accepted that fact the other day

and we're at a point where it would have to be a miracle fluke to change it

otoh, CFS is now showing at least a weak NINO into October

I think that's what we want as a NINO like 09/10 would not be good w/o the blocking that came w/it

Not sure if it's a FRESH 2" but it works:

NEW SNOW... now 2" on ground in northern Montgomery County at 5:15am... just took this pic: twitpic.com/8ieaoq

interesting because HGR and Martinsburg have been just cloudy for hours; if the report is accurate, they must be on the western edge of decent qpf

this is looking like a weak distant cousin of 3/1/09 in that regard

Nice picture! We have a little less than that just NE of Germantown - about an inch. Hoping for some snowshowers later.

Well that wasn't much sleep...on my way to work...looks like about .75 or so give or take...sounds like it kept snowing after I went down at 2am....lovely little event for the Burg....models aren't showing much love for the squall event for us back here...looks to be a 95 east type of deal...hope we get some to go with this nice surprise.
