I measure along the home that is blocked by the gusty North winds.

Again the buildings and hills here just make everything a giant twisting funnel of wind. When I was standing out there I swear I wa being blown at from every direction at once. Including down. And up.

I have waves in my front yard...

Looks like another nice band working through NW Oakland CTY :)

Was standing outside waiting for the arctic front. Though snow was coming down nicely, the air was completely calm and still then the front roared through, for as crummy as this winter has been and as good as the last 4 winters have been, I must say this ranks up there with one of the cooler things Ive been out in. Took a video I am uploading now! Its about 2 mins, 15 secs long as goes from calm snowfall to front barreling through. Hope it turns out. For now, heres some pics

Moderate snow again. Its going sideways! Reminds of the GHD storm. Obviously won't hit 11" but 5" possible

Nice pics freak!

Oh god! Honestly the snow was much more heavier lol...And look in 3 hours we got almost half of the snowfall that we got in 15 from the GHD storm...That storm failed miserably at least for my area..nothing special..

This whiteout reminds me more of Feb 20, 2011 than GHD. Its a total winter wonderland outside...eyeballing it we had probably 1.5" ahead of the whiteout front, cant wait to see what we end up with by morning.

Wait till the winds really start cranking and you will see what I'm talking about. snow has been going sideways for the last 3 hrs

Well 4 looks to be it for here as that other stuff is falling apart and just dropping light snow. Still blowing around though and yeah it is brutal outside but it is nice and wintry!

Nice little overperformer and one of the better ones i have seen here in these parts. Have a few 5+ reports and even a 6.0 in Ottawa and 6.2" from Grand Rapids for the jackpot in this area anyways.

Dayum, Detroit is getting pounded! Here about an hour away from Detroit we've picked up about 4". Definitely an overperformer, we were forecasted to get about 2-3". It's still snowing heavily out there, I'm thinking we make a run for 5"... dare I say more?

Beautiful out there, and tomorrow I have a day off to enjoy the frigid temps. It seems like the less I pay attention to a storm, the more it overperforms, a la Jan.13th 2012. Either way, I'm psyched.

I measured 1.4" about an hour and a half or two hours ago. Been light to moderate snow since then, with heavy snow in the last 30 minutes. The front was pretty cool... visibility went down to about 1/3 mile and it was pretty windy. Temp gradient with the front is very impressive as well... temps in the low 10's in IN/West MI while it's still in the mid to upper 20s IMBY. Nice little storm, hopefully It won't drift too much tonight so I can measure in the morning

At home I had 2-2.5" before I left the house at 10:30PM. Honestly combined with the wind this should have been an WWA for at least 8 Mile Rd and points North. Especially those areas in The Thumb and Saginaw Valley, some totals there are in the 4-6" range with no WWA.

As of 12:40am I was at 4.0" snow and 0.26", with snow still falling at a decent clip. Way overperformer, may end up with 5". Very very pleased!

Some more pics and the video. The video is 2 mins, 24 secs long. At the beginning you see the calm snow just before the front moves through, it really gets wild at 1:20.

Actually south of 8-mile may have done a bit better than just north of there. Wayne county probably did just as well as Oakland, we had that blob of moderate snow ahead of the front. I had 1.5" down as the front approached. Over 4" now.
