A little while later, he was admitted into a hospital for acute diverticulitis. He'll be in for at least 2-3 days on IV antibiotics, and hopefully he doesn't have a perforation which would require immediate surgery. This means my vacation is cancelled, and I have to cover for him this weekend. I'm sorry we can't make it, but in circumstances like this, I can't be upset about it.
