Kmlwx
Any word on the length of the tail? was it short like most meteors when there's a meteor shower in progress? Also, there was a fireball in the midwest a few days ago. (Wednesday I think). Maybe Iran is attacking us.
Swiscaster
I saw it. I was driving east on I-66 just past Nutley at 10:16pm when all of a sudden, I see this bright "comet" in the eastern sky quickly descending at an angle. I was like WTF?! Then all of a sudden it sort of exploded with an orange haze and was gone. This all took about 1-2 seconds. It was pretty big.

Bob Chill
I saw something similar in VA Beach and in CO. Pretty shocking to witness but both turned out to be meteors.
JamieOber
Swamp gas or weather balloon. I'm going to wait for the episode of UFO Hunters on this incident before I make any rash judgments.
