Of course its not worth it. Its never worth it, even when it shows a great solution.....because its not gonna change before I wake up (well, the Euro anyway). But I have 3500 posts on a weather forum. Do I seem sound of mind to you?

Sometimes I legitimately wonder how I balance almost 10,000 posts on a weather forum...studying for a meteorology degree..and maintaining a social life. And right now I'm trying to court a girl too.

Speaking of which we're planning to meet on Saturday -- which means I won't have time to access the models. What timing :lmao:

Well its much easier for me, ill give you that. My wife already knows and deals with this insane habit, and most of my studying days are long in my past lol. And my schedule usually allows me late night model watching (im never in bed early anyway)...but when i tell a friend about my weather "hobby", they look at me like i told them my hobby was sticking kittens in microwaves.

A little different for me since I'm going at it as a career....but I still get that look. I generally use the words "I'm forecasting" which often stands for "I'm over-analyzing model guidance and posting my thoughts on a weather forum".

She's Italian, Swedish, and Egyptian. The Euro can wait..and so can anything else unrelated.

It's like a combo of the Euro, GFS and Ukie i agree with you. Have fun and i hope it goes well. Hopefully by then everything will be nailed down and you will just be waiting on a foot of snow.

Those stats are shockingly dreadful. Less than 10" for Boston, only about 14" for Albany! Wow what a warm winter.

They are far worse from a pure winter perspective...as many of the totals are heavily padded by the October storm...

How would those totals look like without the October storm?

I'd have to go back to the websites for the various NOAA CWA"s...would take several minutes to do the arithmetic and I'm tired...off the top of my head, I think Worcester and Hartford would be hurt the worst...Allentown & Scranton too.

Sounds like real good advice...ur friend knows what he is talking about....

My gf finds it dorky....but cute....which I guess I will run with

I find it to be a good policy in general. Otherwise it's too tempting.

Most girls in the past haven't really cared much about it...didn't think it was too strange.

If this girl makes you move to Philly, you are a sellout.

Yep. MY fiance got drunk the other night and told my friends, i almost kicked her...she was laughing about it, she think it is very dorky but very cute as well...

My close friends know about my weather interest, but not the extent to which i follow it...

John, remember that a gf is temporary and weather is forever, and that if you cannot see her ever accepting your weather obsession, then she isn't the one...my fiance has accepted the fact that if it snows she is secondary...alot of girls cant handle that.
