jm1220
Astoria is 3 miles from Central Park and 3 miles from LGA. I had about 2-2.5" from the January storm. Way too many breaks in the snow and then sleet/light rain. I don't rate a storm a success (particularly that one when Upton raised us to 3-5" right before the snow broke up) unless at least the grass gets covered. BxEngine
No borough of NYC is completely on the mainland or a stand-alone island other than Staten Italy. I think those here who were discussing it more than likely know their geography.

Guest Pamela
Nope. Rikers, city island, hart island Lol...that is obviously not what is implied...99 % of the Bronx is connected to SE NY state...one need not go over a bridge to get to Westchester County from there...Fishers Island is part of Suffolk County...but i would never introduce it into an argument like this.... Who was implying anything? My statement about the Bronx is 100% correct, no implying necessary. This pattern clearly has gotten to you, as my original point was defending you frome someone not from around here who doesnt understand the Long Island/Bk/Queens crowd. Dude im from around here, i know the geography of the area as well as anyone on this board...it pisses me off that most people dont know that queens and bk ARE on long island...when people say they are going to the "City" do they mean Ozone Park or Crown Heights? No, they dont. They mean the city...yes i obviously get it...and william knows i get it as well...its just sparring due to boredom.
