Errr...i mean...geopolitically yes, but western long island includes queens and bk...i guess living 4 miles from queens border i think its odd that simply driving 4 exits on the LIE takes me out of Long island...even though im still on the Long Island Expressway... :lmao:

Virtually "no one* considers Brooklyn and Queens as part of Long Island...when Long island is mentioned...only Nassau and Suffolk counties come to mind...though, from a technical standpoint, those two boroughs are part of the Island....

Astoria is 3 miles from Central Park and 3 miles from LGA.

I had about 2-2.5" from the January storm. Way too many breaks in the snow and then sleet/light rain. I don't rate a storm a success (particularly that one when Upton raised us to 3-5" right before the snow broke up) unless at least the grass gets covered.

When someone in the city says..."We're going out to the Island"....they are never referring to Brooklyn or Queens....

"Long Island is an island located in the southeast part of the U.S. state of New York, just east of Manhattan. Stretching northeast into the Atlantic Ocean, Long Island contains four counties, two of which are boroughs of New York City (Queens and Brooklyn),"

No borough of NYC is completely on the mainland or a stand-alone island other than Staten Italy. I think those here who were discussing it more than likely know their geography.

Well The Bronx is...

What about Shooter's Island Bird Sanctuary? Isn't that part of Staten island?

Nope. Rikers, city island, hart island

Lol...that is obviously not what is implied...99 % of the Bronx is connected to SE NY state...one need not go over a bridge to get to Westchester County from there...Fishers Island is part of Suffolk County...but i would never introduce it into an argument like this....

To be fair, this argument was about the location of boroughs and parts of w respect to landmasses...i think they should rebuild Hog island, that place seemed pretty cool

Who was implying anything? My statement about the Bronx is 100% correct, no implying necessary. This pattern clearly has gotten to you, as my original point was defending you frome someone not from around here who doesnt understand the Long Island/Bk/Queens crowd.

There will likely be *big changes* by about 3900 when Taylor, Landon, and the 3rd guy (name escapes me) get back....(oh yeah, Dodge)

Dude im from around here, i know the geography of the area as well as anyone on this board...it pisses me off that most people dont know that queens and bk ARE on long island...when people say they are going to the "City" do they mean Ozone Park or Crown Heights? No, they dont. They mean the city...yes i obviously get it...and william knows i get it as well...its just sparring due to boredom.
