Edge Weather
Honestly, why do people even look here then? If you don't want to see posts like this then why would a person even come here? Isn't it about the potential? If there was no potential, what would the purpose be of anyone even being here? The daily " huge storm 7 days out post" - what's it come to fruition one of about 15 this year? Beginning to seem like a joke

Snow_Miser
18z DGEX has a large area of precipitation at hour 192. Whether this moves up the coast or not is up for grabs.

Edge Weather
This is the one that the control run of the Euro has over the DelMarva as a 978mb giving us a KU at 192 hrs.

SnowGoose69
18z DGEX has a large area of precipitation at hour 192. Whether this moves up the coast or not is up for grabs. The pattern at Day 8-10 has alot of potential to send this board into true suicidal mode. If some of the models ideas of the western block and strong 50/50 low are right we could see a big snow event for NC/VA/MD and nothing up here. Snowshack
Although they are hurting big time up here too, winter is still alive in Lake Placid. Mirror Lake has a very thick layer of ice...a few inches of snow left around, and we've had snow showers and flurries since about 9 pm last night. Going up to the Golden Arrow next weekend...Mirror Lake is a nice spot. Even in a winter such as this Lake Placid usually has a wintry feel
ag3
I'm talking about hour 132 on the Dgex. Shows warm surface temps but Dgex has a huge warm bias at the surface. Either way it's super fantasy range.
Chris L
LOL at ECMWF. Seriously shows a KU?

If some of the models ideas of the western block and strong 50/50 low are right we could see a big snow event for NC/VA/MD and nothing up here. That would be very unfortunate, considering that we would have the block that we need, and have been lacking for every single storm (except the October Snowstorm)

Snow_Miser
LOL at ECMWF. Seriously shows a KU? The ECMWF Control run does. I WISH I could post it, but posting it violates Accu WX Pro terms.

Snow_Miser
Yes, just like February 5-6 2010. I got 12 inches out of that one. I'll gladly take that any day. Up in NYC you guys barely got a trace.
SnowGoose69
Yes, just like February 5-6 2010. This event would probably not even get that far based off some of the setups at 500mb, it would be strictly a southern MA storm sort of like a 2/18/89 or some of those events later in the 03-04 winter that pounded NC but did not quite make it up here. The good news is we've failed to get that sort of a blocking setup all winter, if we fail again we may get a shot at something coming up the coast. Brian5671
In the meantime another week of 40-45 degree highs and no interesting weather in the least....
Edge Weather
Yes, the DGEX has heavy snow for northern NC and Southern VA. The pattern at Day 8-10 has alot of potential to send this board into true suicidal mode. If some of the models ideas of the western block and strong 50/50 low are right we could see a big snow event for NC/VA/MD and nothing up here. NorEaster27
Was it a bust? I am up in the adriondacks and had a great day of skiing at whiteface, probably picked up 2 inches during the day.
Brian5671
A bust to say the least-a thin coating that lasted an hour and poof, gone. No cold air and only light precip-even busted out on the cape-top total was something like 2 inches on the grass.s
Snowshack
Thats where i am now. I love this place. One of the best spots in the East. Hows Golden Arrow? This will be our first time staying there. Below zero tonight?

SBUWX23
Bust? No. No one here was forecasting anything over 1-3. We got less than 1 but I would not call that a bust by any means given that we never had any confidence in this being something significant. You talk like you know everything and its very disrespectful to us here who try to make a decent forecast. A bust to say the least-a thin coating that lasted an hour and poof, gone. Sundog
Mirror Lake is gorgeous. I've been to Lake placid in the summer and winter. I went in early August 2004, where a few of the days I was there stayed in the low 50s and lows dipped into the 30s. The smell of burning wood was in the air and I visited the Christmas store in town. It felt more like the end of November than the dead of summer! It's a great place to visit. I recommend it.
