This may get me suspended...but I prefered the "old days" when our sub-forum had an alleged "bad reputation"....but it snowed regularly....to the current time when we are supposedly "respected" by the mid Atlantic subforum (and it never snows)....yes, knowing Zwyts "respects" the subforum I post in completes me as a human being...lol.

I don't think we were ever a bad sub forum. Actually I think it's worse today than it was a few years ago. I haven't been posting much at all this season and the lack of snow isn't the only reason.

43rd anniversary of an exceptional snowstorm in the area that was preceded, IIRC, by a stale, rather mild anticyclone...

Throw in the 100 Hours Storm that took place 2 weeks later and areas near Boston had quite a February that year...

Boston (Logan) with just 7.8" this season...running neck and neck with Cental Park / 7.2".

Throw out the October storm and it is fair to say that much of SNE has had a worse winter, snow wise, relative to normal, than the NYC area...tomorrow's event should help a bit...but there is considerable ground to make up.

Going with 1-3" for tomorrow most spots, maybe a 4" somewhere that more enhanced snows develop. To me, it looks like a disorganized and sheared out mess of a feature that congeals too late for us. Maybe eastern New England can get some further enhancement. I can also see it staying too warm for some to really accumulate much snow with the stale air mass in place. Some being me in the SW Nassau Snowhole of course.

Take what you can get in this unfavorable winter and run with it. 1-3" for NYC should actually stick around for a couple of days before melting away....

Next weekend should be a money event if all come to fruition. We got a much better shot at that happening than this weekend.

Yanksfan...looks like one of those storms where Long Island gets more than N and W...

If you want to get excited over the difference between 1.8" and 3.0" be my guest. As I have said all week, I hope this thing misses NJ completely because I have plans with my new girlfriend tommorrow night.

I wish.

sadly, since the NAO has been mainly positive since November I am expecting a bit of a correction for the Spring time. The last thing we need is a nother round of March/April noresters dumping buckets of rain and flooding everyone again.

That will probably be the case.

Thanks man, didn't take me long at all. Went on a couple of dates and found a girl that I really like. Almost love at first sight. I'm not dumb enought to tell her that yet, but I am falling for her very fast. I'm not sure if it's because of what I went through or just the fact that she is just amazing but it's a very nice feeling.

I'm just glad this weekend won't be as cold as we thought it would be a few days ago. Temperatures will be near normal for both days, below just slightly below for Sunday. A few days ago, we thought it wouldn't get out of the low to mid 20s for highs. Still, with some gusty winds most likely, especially Saturday, wind chills could easily fall in the single digits.
