Man, what a day. I'm at 2 3/4, and still some rain falling. This train was much wider, and longer than the one the other day, but it set up along the same path, from sw of LaGrange right thru here, and on to Columbia. Michelle, I sure hope it threw it down on you like it did here. I could see it was going from my house to yours!

Kyle, I hope it was not too far se of you to give youthe big amounts that I got. Looked like you were getting side swipped some of the time. This is the kind of train of rain the northside was getting for so long.

Few more weeks like this and I can get well quick. Tony

Glad you got some rain Tony! Here... 0.02" was it. And you can see why.

Thank, Steve! Yeah, it looked like you guys were getting skunked.

Kyle, I was afraid you might have gotten less. My friend on the se corner of the county only :), I say only, lol, got 1 1/2 inches to my just over 2 3/4's. And only got an inch to my 1.6 the other day. Guess I'm just in the right place, for a change. The only way this could have been better is if it were sleet :) Tony

Wooo Hoooo! You sure have pleased the rain gods lately and you need to share your secret  CAE says .86 fell and I'm not sure what I ended up with at the house as my guage is no longer in working condition :(

High of 75 around noon, wind got cranking thereafter with pre-frontal rain event, sustained 25+ gusting to 45. Took a walk in the back 40, couple 4" type limbs down, pretty much it. Warm muggy day till about noon, felt like mid April honestly. Clouds and RN rolled in around lunch time and moderate risk went to crap shortly thereafter.

Ended up with 1.05 inches of rain. Although the heaviest, at least double to maybe triple the amounts I had were just a few tens of miles south of here, I consider myself lucky since a lot of north ga saw virtually nothing.

The high winds never panned out. I checked the observations in Sc and never saw winds that meet GSP's wind advisory criteria..just your normal post frontal breezy conditions..unless I missed something. Highest gust here was only 32mph. In fact, winds here were pretty damn light all afternoon...10 or 15mph at best. Highest winds were in the evening but certainly nothing special. So looks like FFC won this one.

.NEAR TERM [TODAY AND TONIGHT]...THE FIRST TWO PERIODS OF THE

FORECAST SHAPING UP TO BE AN INTERESTING ONE. CURRENTLY HAVE A BAND

OF SHRA/SHIP JUST SOUTH OF THE GULF COAST(YES...HAVE HAD REPORTS OF

IP JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT WITH SURFACE TEMPS IN THE LOW 50S). THE IP

WERE DUE TO A VERY DRY LAYER PRESENT IN THE LOWEST 10K` ACCORDING TO

MOST OF THE SURROUNDING 00Z SOUNDINGS. WITH WETBULB VALUES DROPPING

BELOW 0C AT TIMES...VOILA...IP. WITH THE DYNAMICS FROM THE LAST

SYSTEM MOVING OFF...AM EXPECTING THE DECENT MID/UPPER LEVEL DECK OF

CLOUDS TO THIN OUT A BIT. GONNA SEE SUN...MAINLY THROUGH A DECK IF

CI.

TONIGHT...ANOTHER SHORTWAVE SYSTEM CURRENTLY OVER TX STARTS TO MOVE

OVER THE AREA...BRINGING A THICKENING OF THE CLOUD DECK...AND

BEGINNING AROUND MIDNIGHT...LIGHT SHRA START TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA

FROM THE SOUTHWEST. WITH A VERY DRY AIRMASS IN PLACE OVER THE

FA...THIS LIGHT SHRA WILL BE FALLING FROM A CLOUD DECK AT ABOUT

10K`...PLUS OR MINUS. WITH WEB BULB TEMPS ON THE MODEL SOUNDINGS

AGAIN DROPPING BELOW 0C IN SOME OF THE BELOW CLOUD LAYERS...IP

MIXING IN WITH THE SHRA IS QUITE POSSIBLE AGAIN TONIGHT. HAVE PUT

INTO THE GRIDS FOR THE FORECAST. AM NOT EXPECTING ANY SIGNIFICANT

AMOUNT...JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN THE PUBLIC SEES SLEET

FALLING ON THEIR HEADS...THEY HOPEFULLY AREN`T SURPRISED TOO MUCH.

Yeah the official non-mtn ASOS sites were very close, but no cigar. I'd imagine some areas in between the sites experienced WI.Y levels at some point. Too close not to have a WI.Y out though.

Peak Winds:

KCLT - 41

KGSP - 41

KAVL exceeded the criteria with a sustained at 32.

Upslope Green Mountain style in VT :) (I was in heaven this morning!). I am on a trip until Monday. 2-3" per hour rates with vis 1/8th mile or less. 8-10" on the ground where this was taken from this snowfall thus far as of 11am.

Video in 1080p (Shot with a camera that is more like a flip so not quite as good as the Ch. Video clarity wise but still decent).

Looks like about a 3ft wind tide in the sounds since yesterday its interesting to watch how that works around here, Greenville is kinda the breaking point just east of Greenville the river gets wider and shallow and is very much "tidal" and drops a lot when the west wind kicks in, but just west of town its narrow with steep banks and doesnt show the wind tide....

This gauge is in eastern Pitt Co at Grimesland

This gauge is at the bridge on the 264 bypass in northwest Greenville

There is about 10-15 miles of river between the two gauges

Started out chilly. Not sure of the temp just that the water in the dog bowl was iced-over :). It's 48 now and looks to be a nice day.

I'm replacing the batteries in the rain gauge. I don't think that .83 since January is right. I mean, it could be but if it were that dry the dog wouldn't be able to find all the mud...but he does.
