Getting hit by a monster rain shower around CAE.

I know accuweather overdoes this usually, but their radar is def right this time around. The refreshed frame shows blackness instead of dark red/brownish in the middle. (No thunder to be heard, just rain)

EDIT: one quiet rumble.

Wow, what a warm day. It's bordering on hot today! At my office in Marietta it's 77.4 and 78.2 on the two sensors. That is with lots of concrete and cars on the lot which skews my temp by a few degrees but it's hot. While the temp at my office is typically warmer than Dobbins AFB (75 at 2:55PM reading) not far down the road, the temp is accurate for this location. ugh, I'm dreading summer already.

Nice day out today, went out and hit some baseballs.

18Z NAM starts to finally bring precip into the cold air Sunday. It's light precip, but it brings it into S and C MS/AL and eventually GA. Looked at some soundings temps are supportive for someone to see wintry precip (wintry mix, rain/snow, flurries) with only the surface to ~950-975MB above freezing. Saturation in the DSGZ supports snow growth, but some soundings don't show saturation in the lowest levels, so there would be virga...Maybe someone can get some token flurries probably won't accumulate though with surface temps ~ +3C.

Will need to watch for trends to see if other models want to send moisture north into the cold this Sunday.

Absolutely perfect day today. 74.7 IMBY in Dahlonega in February. I'll take it. If winter is going to blow then let it be warm.

Agreed. I couldn't dream up a better day weather-wise. Nice and crisp morning, led to a high of 81. Now I have the windows open for the night. Few things more relaxing than falling asleep to the sounds of the outdoors.

Clouds are moving hear at RTP. Wind has been howling all morning. 76 at RDU. Starting to remind me of the morning of April 16. Waiting to see if they launch any additional balloons at GSO and MHX.

Interesting, I was just telling my supervisor thata few minutes ago.

Still sunny up here in Caldwell, NC

Man, what a day. I'm at 2 3/4, and still some rain falling. This train was much wider, and longer than the one the other day, but it set up along the same path, from sw of LaGrange right thru here, and on to Columbia. Michelle, I sure hope it threw it down on you like it did here. I could see it was going from my house to yours!

Kyle, I hope it was not too far se of you to give youthe big amounts that I got. Looked like you were getting side swipped some of the time. This is the kind of train of rain the northside was getting for so long.

Few more weeks like this and I can get well quick. Tony

Well, about an hour ago, I had the highest rain rate that I can remember on my Vantage Vue. I received 0.41 inch of rain in one 10-minute span with a max rain rate (during that period) of 8.73 inches per hour! I then got 0.03 inch in the next 10-minute span, so I now have a 0.44 inch total for the day. We also received pea-sized hail during that brief storm.

I can believe it! This front, if you were under the good parts, was packing some juice with the thunder. I'll have to look but I bet I haven't been hammered like this in a year or more...not in less than 24 hours. T

I don't anticipate the kind of totals you are reporting. I might be a little to far northwest to catch the "train". I'll be happy with .75" to 1.00". Have to seen when I get home. Here at work, we didn't get but a quick 10 minute deluge, though.
