anyone saying " this is a no go " over 7 days out is not very intelligent.

He is a Chief Meteorologist at News 14 in Charlotte! And I want to take back my quote, misread. This is his exact words on Feb. 10th.

"* The system for Tuesday, while it will have some moisture with it, a few sprinkles, the concept of snow is not very strong. Frankly doubtful it will even be an issue, but, I'll forecast for a few flurries with an understanding that I am being generous based on the latest model trends."

He is one hell of a Meteorologist IMO. I just misquoted a little.

It was awesome Peach, thanks for asking! 12 miles of 20+ obstacles with cold ass water, electric shock, lot of mud, crawling through pipes, climbing nets, jumping off a 15 plank into a cold lake, more mud, mud, and the Dong Dangler.. Not to mention running hills, watching a 250 pound grown man twist his ankle, bloody noses and people blacking out from shock and much more..

It was around 43 when we started at 9am. However, the wind continued to blow more out of the NW which made it cold. I was good until mile 10 when I had a serve cramp in my left leg (I got it stuck in the mud and as I went to pull out the leg cramped bad) but it went away quickly.

Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine........You must be Widreman....... Yeah, we will nail the coffin shut in mid Feb? Come on man. :wacko2:

I think y'all in the mountain areas have more time but for places like where me and packbacker live, our time is running out. Especially looking at what the models are throwing our way in the lr. Of course they could be wrong but going by the way this winter has gone I wouldn't count on it.

This event were watching is 6-7 days away, after that all the models show a warm up which gets us into March (only 2 weeks away). Once we get into March anyone east of I-77 is toast. This winter has been consistent, why not accept the inevitable. Keep holding onto that hope, you maybe right.

I am shocked we won't see a flake this year. I don't think I have looked at the NAM all winter.

About 40 miles northwest of CLT. Thankfully, it can still snow here in March.

By the looks of your snowfall total this year. 0 I would say we are rocking the same boat, despite what your prior year statistics may be this year is a horrible winter everywhere in the southeast. So I wouldn't go by history but by this winter statistics alone.

I have lived here 47 years and have never been "shut-out" an entire winter in the snowfall department. I have seen accumulating snow (5 inches) in April. I agree with you on one thing.....this winter has been horrible, but as we all know, it can turn around quickly. I guess I am just not ready to give up. If I am wrong, then I will eat my serving of crow. Fair enough?

Most of you guys are depressing and sound like Wildreman. Of course it can snow if it wants to and if it doesn't then oh well. Why be so negative?

Hey tazaroo...I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. Is it possible for us to get snow in March? Sure there is but it's not high percentage. Of course this is my opinion. Also, I'm mainly speaking of my back yard.

I thought a transformer had blown near my house. That's how loud it was. From GSP National Weather Service: http://www.facebook....273657442707567

News article: http://www.wyff4.com...791/detail.html

That's pretty interesting! A couple of weeks ago I was driving home at around 8:30pm and saw the biggest and brightest meteor I have ever seen streak across the sky. I thought it was an airplane, but it was too bright and moving too fast. It was one of those moments of being at the right place at the right time.

Temps are going to be an issue in NC outside the mts. Yeah, I know. Not supposed to worry about that right now.

WRAL has a forecast hiogh of 54 for both Saturday and Sunday and isn't even showing rain. I know they go with the most conservative forecast this far out, but seems a lot has to happen between now and Saturday for this to really have a chance of snow around here.

No, I do have an opinion. And I do have a basic understanding. If you don't like it, don't read it. Really, what is the big deal?

Alright next time you make a post. Explain what you see on the map and why it makes you think something won't happen. Also you can't just repeat what someone else said.

The Valentine storm looks like a dud. I see the storm for the 20th is still on the table, though. We'll see. It'll probably disappear in the next few days

I just read Allan Huffman's blog post for today, and was surprised to find out the snow for this weekend is still on the table. WRAL has a sunny and a high of 54 for Saturday and Sunday. I guess a lot is going to have to happen for the snow to become reality.

If you had a basic understanding you wouldn't be surprised.

So let me get this straight? Your reasoning for it's chances being low are because of a TV forecast almost 7 days away?:banned:
