PhillipS
http://www.dailymail...zing-again.html Or maybe not. On January 18,2012 NASA GISS posted their analysis of global surface temperature here. It has a lot of interesting information and, believe it or not, comes to completely opposite conclusions than the DailyMail article you linked to. Global warming has not stopped, the Sun is not entering a quiet minimum, and with the La Nina ending we are likely facing an increased rate of warming. A suggestion - you may want to get your climate science from a better grade of tabloid than the DailyMail. Just saying.
WeatherRusty
http://www.dailymail...zing-again.html Just more political spin. It is easy enough to demonstrate that climate forcing from solar variation is tiny compared to the forcing from just 1 doubling of CO2. Solar variation (no sunspots to 20th century average) ~1.3W/m^2 = 0.24W/m^2 forcing = +0.08C One doubling of CO2 (pre-industrial 280ppm to 560ppm) 3.7W/m^2 forcing = +1.2C No computer modeling necessary, just the application of basic physics and the known range of solar variability.
