Formula?

-weekend

-since I moved to mt pleasant in 2004 I've gotten accumulating snow In this window or a week on either side every single winter.

-some historic storms have happened this weekend/climo is favorable

- pattern will take longer to develop than progged/we probably have a better Atlantic by then

- this probably won't be our next snowfall event. We might have 1 before, but this is specifically for that weekend.

-you'll have something to track in the short range on your 30th birthday.

My birthday is the 10th. We have had some good storms on that day. Just two years ago was the second of the Great Doubleheader that month. I'm pulling for it.

and, of course, February 1983 Blizzard.... now that was a hell of a storm. :pimp:

It's great that some people have hope still on our winter. Yes it is a favorable time for a storm. Even accuaweather is showing snow and cold somewhere in that time range. To me this is way to early especially with all this winters let downs. When I see this on the models at least 5 days out then I will be totally stoked. Until then I will keep my fingers crossed. May "Old Man Winter" show his big behind soon!

It's good that we're tracking the environmental context and climo rather than going run to run, because 0Z GFS just gave us an unphased-nothing, followed by warmth... Let's see what Euro does...

(what, is 9 days too early to be tracking model runs?)
