Logan11
It's about the fifth consecutive different Euro solution so it hasn't locked in yet. Now if it has it over our heads again at 12Z I'll get nervous that it's honing in. Yeah but now I'm not feeling as good about this one.. When is the exact time frame ? Is it Thurs nite Fri? or Fri nite Saturday? SOunds like the GFS is too far SE
mahk_webstah
I have a hard time thinking Feb 3 cuts. In a pattern change where we are trending towards a +PNA the trend should not end up as n and w too much. HPC has lo to no confidence in the mid range but they have a benchmark storm for Fri-Sat. Doesn't look like they buy the cut bodily across NE scenario.
Chrisrotary12
Boy could the models be any more far apart for a particular system? There is absolutely no model consistency......kinda fun and laughable huh? Well this much we know.....I think. There should be some kind of storm somewhere East of the Mississippi sometime after next Thursday.

Mr Torchey
Scooter, Will have laid out the possibilities quite well with regards to this threat, that it being part of the pattern change we may have to endure more pain before palpable pleasures

ORH_wxman
Looks like the 12z Goofus will offer up a Miller B for next weekend. Actually looks like it stays too positively tilted and exits the coast as a moisture starved clipper type system.
dryslot
I saw people ice fishing and skating this morning on the pond at the bottom of my hill Skating is one thing, But they drive vehicles, 4 wheelers, snowmobiles and we are talking a few thousand people and the ice surface is certainly not able to suppport that weight, That is what the fear is of the Maine Warden Service so they have cancelled most of the derbys and winter carnivals so far
Baroclinic Zone
Actually looks like it stays too positively tilted and exits the coast as a moisture starved clipper type system. Yeah, but the "threat" is still there. When they have this sort of setup as modeled, they always seem to be moisture starved when they remain positively tilted. That cutoff out west is not allowing this thing to dig earlier. Also, if you look at the surface reflection as compared to the 5h image @144h, I have to believe it would develop closer to the coast, up by the Chesapeake Bay area. Just my $.02 fwiw.
