I am with WxUSAF on next winter Rockin. I went in detail about winter 2012-2013 and some people got angry, because this winter is not over with. Anyway my hopes are slim without the(-NAO) no big snows. 75% of winter is over in my book with the pattern. Hope we can squeeze something out soon.

if it's another nina we might have to shut the board

I thought you were going for a semi-big DCA winter....no big February storm?

January was my month if that thought had any real basis. I like your numbers I think. Meant 10 total not 10 in Feb.

Looking at the CPC analog dates today for the upcoming couple of weeks, they listed 1991, 1999, and 1989. I don't know about this region, but down in swva each of those years turned cold at the end of Feb into March. I remember good snows in March in 99 and Feb 89, and a wicked cold front in 91 that zapped the leaf buds off of some trees in late March.

Maybe from the optimism of having snow and people still trying to be positive on getting snow has not worked out well. Maybe we should all say "NO MORE SNOW THIS WINTER" and watch we get it. Lol. Still got the fingers crossed for later this month but on the low side.

Doubt that it means much, but the SREFS are much colder for the weekend than the GFS. They actually bring in some light precip that I would think would have to be snow. That's a mean though, don't know how it's getting there.

New NAM 00z looks colder to me...also looks drier...

Well, the SREFS basically show colder, drier. There is one member that is giving a good solution in our area. It is really good, and that's why the mean is showing some precip overall.

The srefs/nam would say that it is still close enough to be interested. But many here don't give those two much confidence at that time range, so I guess that's it for tonight. Here's to the GFS and Euro coming around. Hasn't been that way very much.

My hunch is that we see a weak ugly progressive sheared out monstrosity that gives us nothing or some very light rain. Hope I am wrong.
