CoastalWx
Yup, that's spring in Plymouth ... low 40's while the rest of New England is in the 60's lol. I just hope we lose any downstream blocking this spring so we can build some decent ridging up the east coast. Mud wrestling FTW?

I miss days when there were 100-200 people in the New England forum watching models and analysis... Just a few diehards left. . . On the other hand, I now know what my kid's names are. Poor Miser. wxsniss
I'm at peace this morning and accepting of the fact that this winter is a dead ratter and anything I get snow wise is a lovely and pleasant surprise. A nice day today....most winters at the bottom of climo would consider it solidly above normal but today feels cool. Such is the winter of 2011-12. Today is my wife's and my anniversary and we're going out to celebrate tonight. 16 fabulous years and counting. This summer will be 20 years since we met. happy anniversary fella! where did you meet? kudos that it couldn't possibly have been on facebook/okcupid/jdate/match... CoastalWx
It does seem like we could go into a milder pattern near and after V-Day, but there may very well be overrunning chances too with a front nearby. All models seem to support this, but the extent of the mild wx is still in serious question. They also try to ooze some colder wx into the picture, after the "warmest" part of the period occurs. weathafella
happy anniversary fella! where did you meet? kudos that it couldn't possibly have been on facebook/okcupid/jdate/match... We met accidentally through someone I knew. I copped to my snow obsession on our first date to get it out of the way. Our first winter together was 1992-93.. A great one. I remember overhearing her on the phone to a friend one time saying something like .."he told me he was obsessed but I had no idea of the intensity of it all...". Still together and happy. D10 of the euro ensembles is a warm signal but there appears to be chances after that time period.

weathafella
Congrats Jerry, I have 29 lovely years with my wife plus we lived together for 6 before we married.. Nice! Tht counts for 35 in my mind as our 3 years of cohabitation prior to making it official meqn's we're at 19 this month. Our wives all have to be special to put up with us checking out during the winter months but they probably have friends who's husbands do far worse things....lol. I woke up at 2 am this morning to take the puppy out. I said to my wife i'll be back after i check out the Euro. She just shook her head, rolled over and went back to sleep. Logan11
It's just incredible how hard it is to get a decent snow threat this year. You always have several moving parts that have to come together, Several contravening signals that work against you. Like the karma is all against us. I suppose it's the inverse of those golden seasons when it just wanted to snow all the time. This is why I think in the winter they should devise a way to use median instead of mean (average). Average means squat this time of the year - whether it's temperature or snowfall. One of these days all three models will have an awesome 11-15 day. Maybe next year. January 2006 was incredibly warm but still managed to get snow and one of the worst se winds storms I can even remember. This is just a horrific winter. Not even a good inside runner.
