BeauDodson
The Region's Most Prolific January Tornado Outbreak Ever Recorded Full report http://www.crh.noaa....k/?n=jan17_2012 Early on the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2012, a powerful squall line swept through southern Indiana and central Kentucky along a sharp cold front. Small circulations developed along the line, resulting in nine known tornadoes, mostly across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. The Louisville metropolitan area appeared to be at the center of the tornado activity, with four tornadoes occurring within or just outside of the city. http://www.crh.noaa....b/animation.gif Full report http://www.crh.noaa....k/?n=jan17_2012 I would imagine some of this information was embedded in a daily thread - but thought some might have missed their updated data. Indystorm
Good to hear from you, Beau. I noticed that article on Louisville's NWS page. Hope this along with tors in Alabama and Arkansas doesn't portend another horrendous season. Statistical correlation between Jan tornadoes and the rest of the spring activity seems to be lacking, but a weakening LaNina in my experience tends to lead to an active spring somewhat farther east and north than usual.
