tmagan
Too bad we dont have more official snowfall reporting locations on Long Island. That is something I'd pay more taxes for-- there should be at least 2 of them on the north and south shores of each county (and one in the middle.) Send the money to me, I'll see what I can work out. NorthShoreWx
3/10ths of an inch of snow as of 1:00 AM...close to 1% of our seasonal average... It may take another 99 nights to get there if the "Winter of the flurry" continues as it has been.
NorthShoreWx
Caribou ME is warmer than Miami Beach lol. Looks like our snow is about to end though. It was nice while it lasted! Been snowing for 5 hours here. The people in Miami aren't laughing out loud about it. There is also more snow in RIC than in most of northern Maine (where it it is completely gone most places). They are having a crazy warm month up there, although the warmest December in CAR averaged a hair over 26.

I remember a December just like this back in the early 90s when all we had were flurries and snowshowers. As a matter of fact, this was the norm back then. At least, this was our first accumulating snowfall. I just wish it had happened during the day.
Sock Puppet
Na during the day would've had it melt more. ELCwx
Wow, this snow just wont quit! Pretty amazing. Radar picking up a bit again after it looked like it was winding down. I've only seen a little off and on here north of Bridgeport tonight but it looks to be spreading east now through Fairfield Cty. Maybe be able to get a coating out of it. Lol and I thought I was the only one staying up all night to watch the first accumulating snowfall of the season. Im too excited about this to care about this weekend (yet), the Yanks losing out on Lee, or anything else. Surprise snowfalls are the best! Im too excited about this to care about this weekend (yet), the Yanks losing out on Lee, or anything else. Surprise snowfalls are the best! I had actually gone to bed but I got a call from my daughter (who had her last final tonight and was packed and set to drive home from school) yelling at me about the snow because I'm "supposed to know about these things and let her know." She's home safe and sound now so I'm gonna watch for a few more minutes (probably be a hour if things keep improving) and then try to get a little bit of sleep. Meh Im cynical enough to believe that sometimes they might under report just to make their forecasts look good. I can assure you we have well beyond a trace-- its over an inch on all surfaces now.
