Lookout
Impressive display of how hard it is to scour out low level cold damned up against the mountains this morning. My temp jumped 15 degrees in about a half hour between 5am and 5:30 AM. Yet for 4 hours just 20 miles up the road, temps were stuck at 45 degrees. Only now is the temps rising at places like dewy rose, where the temp has gone from 45 to to 59 in about a half hour. It was actually older to the west of me much of the morning..where places like winder were still in the mid 40s. Impressive to me that winds here have been in the 10 to 20 mph range after the warm front yet despite forcing like that the front has had a hard time moving north by even a few miles. Picked up 0.65 of rain so far with more on the way. Here is an example of the sudden temp rise. This is for lexington, about 15/20 miles east of athens and not that far south of me. jrips27
Great storm here. Very heavy rain and some good wind gusts. It was really dumping for about 10 minutes. Lots of standing water in the yard. I'll measure once its done but my automated gauge says .39" with that storm.

Cheeznado
Up to 3" total for the two days (did not check yesterday, I am estimating well over 2" today). Looks like one more round heading in from AL. This easily beats any one rain event all last year.

CandymanColumbusGA
Luckily, the radar signature is weakening as it closes in on Newnan! Also, Peachtree never saw a debris signature on their Dual Pol Radar.

strongwxnc
Awesome Cheez! Stay safe:) Uneventful morning at South Mountain in term of weather. Did not have rain at all. Started to drizzle as we were leaving around 10:40. I assumed the range would hinder the line coming over from TN this morning. However, got 7 miles in with some great creek and river crossings !! WOW! Geting hammered Again! Visibility 20 yards.
dsaur
No rain here since early last evening. But once again I'm in the path of a warned storm. I'm sick and tired of having warned storms coming at me. I wish you tornado lovers would whistle for these storms to come your way, lol. I don't want them. Period. Ever. Welp...even as I complain they've pointed north by a bit. Suits me fine...just wish I'd get some rain, instead of the gun barrel! Got the rolling thunder though...lots of it. SouthernNJ
The bigger problem for Atlanta now might be flash flooding with all the heavy rain training across the metro. The storm near Peachtree City is bowing-out. Not much rotation, but damaging winds certainly could occur with it.

Welp...even as I complain they've pointed north by a bit. Suits me fine...just wish I'd get some rain, instead of the gun barrel! Got the rolling thunder though...lots of it. T Watch out for the gusty winds! Rolled through here about 30 minutes ago and has gusts up to at least 30 to 40 mph. Rained so hard couldn't even see across the street. This has to be at least the fourth time since Christmas I've heard thunder in the early morning hours which is amazing for January....don't know if I ever remember this many tstorm days during the peak of the winter. SouthernNJ
Even if a tornado does not occur, I would expect to see some wind damage reports come in from near Peachtree City and areas south. The line is looking increasingly nasty.
dsaur
They've just warned Greenville, Woodbury, and Zebulon...so it seems the storm has split it two, just like all the rain storms lately, and will miss me north and south It this instance, I'll take it. Hope Kyle's rain finds me though. Lots of thunder. T
dsaur
And now a rotation west of Sunnyside. After the deaths in April you'd think Sunnyside would be left alone, but this is the second rotaton this month to head along that killer path of the April storm. That's a mile north of here. I have pretty heavy rain, and some lightening, with rolling thunder. No wind to speak of. T

Snowless in Carrollton
Less than 2" for the entire month here. The same story, heaviest north of I-20. Actually I think with today's rain, the heaviest rain was along and just south of I-20. 3-4" in a swath from Carroll to Fulton Counties. I'm south of I-20 and I've had close to 5" this month. dsaur
The line has passed. Lots of lightening, and thunder, and a quarter inch of rain, but no wind. T

jrips27
.53" total with this mornings rain. Brings me up to 2.7" for the month. Glad to see that you got nailed, Cheez! SouthernNJ
Pretty nasty looking storm just to the east of Milledgeville GA as well. That line has a decent history of producing some large hail.
SouthernNJ
The Columbus GA storm moved more to the right and weakened, but re-strengthened southeast of the city. Now has rotation again.

SouthernNJ
Pretty nasty looking storm just to the east of Milledgeville GA as well. That line has a decent history of producing some large hail. A TOR was issued for this storm, with the strongest rotation showing up at the beginning of the warning at 220 EST. It has since expired, but the storm still looks at least severe, so I would hope a new warning of some kind is sent out shortly.
